❄️ A Winter Update from Happy Pigs Valley ❄️

Hi everyone! As the chilly weather sets in, we want to share a quick update regarding our upcoming market schedule.

We have made the difficult decision to pause our stalls at the Talbot, Ballan, St Arnaud, and Smythesdale farmers' markets for the next few months.

Because we hatch and raise all of our chickens, ducks, and quails right here from our own breeding stock - rather than bringing in mature commercial birds - most of our current flock are quite young. The cold winter nights, combined with the stress of crating and transport, can be incredibly tough on them and leaves them vulnerable to getting sick.

The wellbeing of our animals is always our absolute top priority, so we’ve decided the best thing to do is keep them warm, safe, and stress-free at home until the weather warms up! ☀️

The good news? You can still get your poultry directly from us! 🐥

We will be continuing on-farm sales by appointment right here in Raglan. If you are looking to add to your flock over the winter, simply send us a direct message to arrange a time to pop by.

Thank you so much for your continued support, understanding, and for caring about our birds just as much as we do. We can't wait to see you all back at the markets in the spring! 🌿

Spinach - bag
Cauliflower or Caulini - you tell me your preference
Pumpkin
Beetroot or wombok

$30 per box
DM me if you are keen. Order by 8pm Friday.

Sometimes our volunteers at the entry gate are asked we we ask for a gold coin donation. These donations are used to provide funding for community organisations who don’t have an easy way of raising funds. Over the 14 years of the BFM running over 🟪$55,000🟪 has been donated locally.
Some of those community groups are listed below.
The BBQ we run at the market also raises funds for these donations and we offer it free to any community group that need to raise funds.

If you are a local community organisation that needs some funds for a special project, please get in touch. We have some funds available this financial year.

You will need to be an incorporated not for profit organisation with an ABN.
