Early mornings means cracking sunrise. Had this beauty out at Togong this morning and yesterday I was lucky enough to have a budding artist Rolly in the truck who left out no detail of yesterdays cut up! What a little legend!!

Big week on the knife for Monty’s meats processed 5 beasts 27 lambs and dispatched another 4 beasts. Started off with a couple nice local wagyu and finished with 3 beautiful young beasts!

Shout out to this little legend 🙌
Meet little Monty (aka Tom)! You’ve probably seen him in the truck most afternoons after school or every weekend — he’s been Big Monty’s main meat man from the very start. 🥩
We also want to give a huge thank you to Troy, Jimmy, and Stephen for all your help and support over the past 12 months.
With that being said, we’re now officially full-time and filling up fast! Thank you all for your continued support — it means the world. ❤️

We are pleased to welcome Monty’s Meats to the 2025 Canowindra Show!

With live butchering demonstrations, it will be fascinating to watch and learn how the lamb you see in the paddock becomes the cuts of meat you find in the supermarket. Did you know that lamb has over 30 different primal and secondary cuts, each suited to different cooking methods? The process also demonstrates how muscle fibres, connective tissue, and fat distribution affect tenderness and flavour.

Come along and see the skill and science behind butchering and gain a new appreciation for the food on your plate.

Had another helper in the truck yesterday. Self proclaimed Meatman Lachie spent the afternoon assisting in the truck and was very excited when it came to making sausages.
