Jonai Farms The Jonai raise heritage breed Large Black pigs & Dairy Short Horn cattle on the volcanic soils of unceded Dja Dja Wurrung Country.

We're an agroecological farm with heritage breed Large Black pigs and cattle on the unceded lands of the Djaara in the central highlands of Victoria. We pay our respect to elders past and present, and we pay the rent. We raise our animals entirely on the paddocks, with a butcher's shop here on farm, and sell through our farm gate shop and to our community-supported agriculture (CSA) members. Every

one is welcome to visit and meet the happy piggehs anytime between 10am and 4pm Monday through Saturday.

We have just 9 of these lovely porchettas left for farm gate pick up only. From our Large Black pigs, stuffed with garlic scapes & herbs straight out of the garden, Mount Zero salt & freshly ground L & L Pepper, they each weigh around 2kg.

We are finished butchering for the year so these & 2 large bone in shoulders are the last of the Xmas roasts on offer. Plenty of Tam’s Cumberland & honey mustard sausages in the freezer, & a limited number of jars of pâté de tête to grace your holiday tables!

You can also grab a copy of Tam’s cookbook - a great Chrissy present for the ethical omnivores & food sovereignty minded folks in your lives! The book has helped us raise over $50k of the abattoir funds to date!

Hello friends - we will soon be shutting down this account as I (Tammi) am no longer of Fb, and we're getting vegan attacks again as the abattoir construction continues. My Friday started with a death threat via voicemail at 6:55am.

It seems Meta might shut us down anyway due to some spurious reports of violating standards (one of these reported is 'Spreading misleading information about agricultural practices that undermines confidence in agriculture'), so who knows, maybe it isn't just vegan abolitionists, maybe it is industrial ag or NIMBY neighbours. Our community will know we have rarely posted over the past year or more, and that misinformation is very far from our approach to radically transforming the food system.

For those who would like to keep following our efforts to ensure a habitable and equitable planet for future generations, in addition to the Jonai Farms blog on our website, I've set up a Substack (where I have so far published all the 'Politics of...' sections of my cookbook, with more to come as I find time around the build, normal farm life, and leading a national abattoir campaign). Google 'Tammi Jonas substack' and you will find me. We also have on Instagram.

Look forward to continuing the discussions and debates on platforms that are not controlled by the fascist oligarchy (NB I recognise that Insta is still that, and am working on an exit strategy).
