Ever wondered what this beautiful powdery coating is on a freshly laid egg? π₯β¨
Itβs called the bloom β also known as the eggβs natural protective coating.
When an egg is laid, the hen adds this thin protective layer to the shell, helping to seal the tiny pores and provide a natural barrier against bacteria entering the egg. ππ€
Because we sell our eggs unwashed, this natural bloom is left intact β just as nature intended.
Those little speckles, marks and variations you see? Theyβre part of what makes each farm-fresh egg unique. No two are quite the same! πΏπ₯
Our girls are free to roam, scratch, forage and enjoy the fresh country air. We love being able to offer our local community, eggs straight from the farm with their natural bloom still on.
Fresh from our hens, to your table. π€
Have you ever noticed the bloom on a fresh egg before?
