As we build the new IGA Local Grocer in Aratula, we want to make it more than just a supermarket; we want it to reflect the history and character of the local Aratula community.

We’re inviting locals, families, and history enthusiasts to share historic photos of Aratula and Carter’s Gate for display in-store. Whether it’s old street scenes, farms, the railway, local businesses, or community events, every piece of history helps tell the story of this town. 🥰

If you have photographs (or know someone who might), we’d love to hear from you.

We’re happy to:
• Scan and return original photos
• Credit contributors (if you’d like)
• Help preserve and showcase local history for future generations

This is a chance to celebrate the people, places, and moments that shaped Aratula into what it is today. 🏘️

Everything is progressing well behind the scenes for our new IGA!
Our plans have been completed, and we are finalising details with our shopfitters to align with the developer’s building team.
We hope to be open late September 2026!
Here is a 3D render from the final plans to give you a peek at what to expect.
Along with regular manned registers, we will be trialing 2 self-serve checkouts so our customers can get in and out quickly at any time of the day!

Hello Aratula 👋🏼 We’re Jarrod and Marika, and along with our little ones, Daisy and Felix, we’re SO EXCITED to announce the opening of Aratula’s first supermarket in mid 2026 🤩

Jarrod has worked in supermarkets for over 24 years, and this will be our fourth store. Last year, our team at IGA Local Grocer Birkdale was honoured to win "IGA QLD/NT Small Store of the Year ", so you can rest assured that you will be getting a great local store 😊

We cannot wait to take you behind the scenes of IGA Local Grocer Aratula and update you as we go from idea to plans to building to hiring to OPENING 🎉
