Recently we gave the elder shrubs their first proper hard prune 🌿✂️

With Steve from Evergrow Componics Farm and his chainsaw doing the heavy lifting/reaching, I followed behind with Scotty's retractable saw, cutting out the dead wood and tidying things up.

We’ve cut the shrubs back by about half in the hope that:
🌱 the new growth will be stronger and thicker
🫐 the fruit will be more accessible
🌿 the plants will spring back with plenty of fresh growth

They’re looking very bare right now… but fingers crossed, it won’t be for long! 🤞

A little hard love now for a healthier, more productive elderberry hedge later. 💚

A little reminder about communication & business hours 🌿

As a small business owner, I’ve been getting increasingly inundated with business-related messages outside of business hours, and there’s definitely an expectation these days that because we can reach someone instantly, they should be available to respond instantly.

That’s not how I want to run my business.

I’m setting some clear boundaries around my work and personal time so I can switch off, recharge and be present outside of work.

Monday–Friday | 9am–4pm

If you need to get in touch, please email me or send a message through Facebook or Instagram. I’ll get to it when I’m back at work and able to respond.

I’m a small business, but I’m also a person with a family, a home, a garden, and a life outside of work. 💚
