Scotland Island Hubsters

Scotland Island Hubsters Veggies and more delivered to your door. Welcome to the Scotland Island Harvest Hub Delivery.

Joining Harvest Hub is simple.
1 - Go to https://harvesthub.com.au/
2 - Register and pick the Scotland Island hub
3 - Call Matt ( # in POD) or post here to confirm delivery details (We operate slightly differently to the other hubs because of the moat). When registering, you will be able to set your standard order - remember to add things you always want and to mark things you never want delivered.

The week's order is customisable between 8am on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday. If you forget to customise your order, at least you will get the essential items and won't get the things you don't want - everything else will be in season, good value and an exciting challenge to your cullinary skills for the week (Don't know what to do with daikon? No worries, post a question here!)
Your order will be delivered to your door (for a pitifully small fee) on Tuesday! Also feel free use this page to share a particularly great recipe or cooking experience. Additionally, you can use this page to post questions or suggestions to Matt or Nikki regarding your Harvest Hub deliveries.

The nights are getting cooler. Too early for potato and leek soup??? Didn’t think so…: leeks $1.70 each, and Sebago potatoes $1.29 a kilo. That’s a whole pan of soup for under 5 bucks.

George Portelli has done it again. He lost a lot of produce in the storms, but these beauties have come through for him. Small but not as small and as expensive as in Coles which you’ll find to be around $4.90 each.

Reliable purple passionfruit packed with pulp. Talk about price gouging as in supermarkets these are $1.50 each but at Box Divvy 79 cents each. We pay the farmer well just don’t add on the huge mark up as a community food group we believe in food access equity.

These red grapes are grown in Robinvale which is located on the south bank of the Murray River in northwestern Victoria. Did you know that you can freeze these grapes and pop into your mouth for a refreshing flavour burst on a hot day? Better still have them ready when serving sweets.

Red grapes have antioxidants that relax the blood vessels and so reducing inflammation. They are low in the glycaemic index which is good for people with diabetes and last but not least, full of fibre so great for getting a ‘sweet’ hit but not the calories.

Clapp’s pears have a slight blush of red. They are firm, juicy and can be eaten fresh or bottling. The interesting thing about these pears is that they are self-pollinating so easy to grow.
