Sometimes, a simple question like βAre you OK?β can make all the difference.
R U OK? Day is a reminder to check in with the people around you, not just today, but any day.
You might notice a friend, family member or colleague isnβt quite themselves. They may be quieter than usual, withdrawing from others, losing interest in things they normally enjoy, or finding everyday life harder than it used to be.
If youβre thinking it, youβre probably right. Take the time to ask how theyβre going, listen and let them know youβre there. You donβt need to have all the answers. Sometimes, helping someone feel heard is enough to start a conversation.
And if youβre the one struggling, itβs okay to ask for help too. If youβve been feeling low, anxious, overwhelmed or finding it difficult to manage day-to-day life, your GP can help.
Your GP can provide a safe space to talk, assess your mental health and help you find the right support.
Because life happens every day. And youβre not alone.
