We are donating half of our business profits this month and have setup a fundraiser to help out people from Bicol, where I’m from, who lost everything from the floods during the recent typhoon. Hi, Besties. I’ve been hesitant to launch my own fundraising drive, as I wanted to ensure clarity on where the donations would go, given the many who are in desperate need of help.
Yet, some amazing individuals have been asking over last few days if we have a fundraiser and have already trusted me with their contributions, without any questions. That trust has shown me the power of the community we built here over the last two years 💞
While half of our profits this month will make a difference, I know that more will have a greater impact. My heart ached when I heard from .ph owner, Kuya Arnold: “Wiped out ang Natuk; lang gubat sa puso na nababayad mong nauda su mga pinagpagalan mo. Di ko isi kung pauno bumbangon.” (Natuk was wiped out; my heart is heavy watching everything I worked so hard for disappear. I don’t know how I will rise from here.)
I’ve also learned that some families of our weavers are still unreachable due to the floods, most of them have lost everything.
In line with our mission at Bicol’s Best AU, I’ve decided to move forward and set this up. With most of the donation drives focused in Naga & other parts of Bicol, I humbly ask for your support in raising funds for Rinconada and Albay, where many of our suppliers and weavers are.
