🧀 CHEESE OF THE WEEK: Rivoire Comté 30 Month🇫🇷

This is Comté for the serious cheese lovers.

Aged for 30 months, Rivoire Comté develops an incredible depth of flavour — savoury, nutty and beautifully complex, with notes of toasted nuts, caramel and a gentle fruitiness.

Look out for those little tyrosine crystals throughout the paste — a delicious sign of long maturation and a satisfying little crunch with every bite. ✨

Perfect on a cheese board, paired with a glass of Jura wine, or honestly… just eaten straight from the fridge.

🧀 Two new cheeses of the week! 🧀

We’ve got two very different cheeses for you to discover this Saturday:

🇦🇺 L’Artisan Mepunga Gruyère — a spring-only Australian cheese inspired by traditional Alpage Gruyère. Made with organic Victorian milk, it has a smooth texture, excellent melting qualities, savoury depth and a sweet, nutty finish. 🐄🌿

💙 Fourme d’Ambert — a French semi-hard blue from the Auvergne, named after the town of Ambert. Don’t let those prominent blue pockets fool you — it’s a surprisingly mild blue, with balanced earthy flavour and a smooth, creamy, buttery finish. Its distinctive cylinder shape makes it a standout on any cheeseboard.

Come taste them before you buy!

To our wonderful Summer Hill Flour Mill Markets community 💛

After a lot of thought, we’ve decided to take a break from Sunday trading at the Summer Hill Flour Mill Markets.

For the past year and a half, we’ve loved being part of this beautiful community. Thank you to everyone who has visited our stall, supported our little family business, and shared our love of cheese—we’re so grateful.

Running Jess’ Cheese Shop alongside full-time work has made two market days every weekend a little too much, so it’s time for us to press pause on Sundays.

You can still find us every Saturday at Orange Grove Market (8am–1pm) with all your favourite cheeses.

If you’re in Summer Hill on a Sunday, we’d love you to keep supporting the wonderful traders at the Flour Mill Markets. We hope this is simply a break, and that we’ll be back in the future.

🔵🧀 Blue Cheese Lovers, This One’s for You

Bluestone is an Australian natural-rinded blue that’s all about balance, complexity and texture. Beneath its striking rind is a dense, buttery paste with delicate blue veining and a slightly crumbly centre. Expect layers of creamy, fruity flavours with gentle bursts of blue, rather than one big salty hit.
