🌿 Why have elderberries been treasured for generations?

These little purple berries are packed with naturally occurring anthocyanins, flavonoids, polyphenols, and vitamin C, making them one of nature's most antioxidant-rich fruits.

For centuries, elderberries have been used in traditional herbal preparations to support seasonal wellness and general wellbeing.

Modern research has also sparked interest in elderberries, with studies suggesting they may help reduce the duration and severity of some cold and flu-like symptoms when taken early.

🌿 A Story Close to My Heart… and a Workshop from the Heart 🌿
My journey with herbs didn’t start in a classroom or a book — it began at my Nanna's table, with a cup of tea in hand and stories of old-world remedies, simple living, and making do with what nature provided.

Born during the Great Depression and living through WWII before migrating to Australia, Nanna carried a lifetime of practical wisdom. She didn’t call it “herbalism” — it was simply how you cared for your family when life was simple, resourceful, and deeply connected to the land.

Those lessons have stayed with me my entire life, and I've continued to build on them - using them in my own home and often sharing with family and friends.

Today, on our homestead in Tingha, I continue to grow, study, and work with herbs - blending traditional knowledge with years of study in herbalism and natural living, always guided by the wisdom she passed down.

This is the heart behind my Topical Healing with Herbs Workshop 🌿
A space where I share those traditional skills — how to create herbal-infused oils, salves, and topical remedies — just as they’ve been passed down through generations.
