High-UMF Manuka honey possesses strong natural antibacterial properties and can be used for minor home applications. We suggest Manuka honey with a high antibacterial rating of MGO 850+ (equivalent to UMF 20+) or higher. For minor wounds, MGO 250+ (UMF 10+) is acceptable, but higher levels deliver significantly faster and more effective antibacterial and anti-inflammatory results. should not be used on severe wounds or infections without medical consultation.
