😊 Awesome story! 😊
At the dinner table, I looked at mom and signaled her to tell dad abou
t my request. Mom nervously looked at dad and said, "Rakib asked for 10,000 taka. His friends are going to Cox's Bazar for a few days."
Dad looked at me and asked, "When are you going?"
I replied, "Just 5 days from now."
Dad looked down and said, "Okay, work at the shop for 3 days. I'll give you the money when I return."
I happily agreed.
The next day, I went to the shop. We have a small clothing store. I've visited the shop before, but this was my first time working there. The employees explained everything to me. My job was to record the profit on each item and show clothes to customers.
A customer looked at 20 shirts and said, "No, I don't like any of them." I was surprised. One of the employees whispered, "Smile, brother. You need to be friendly with customers."
Another customer asked for new pants. I showed him some good models. He h negotiated the price, offering 300 taka (way too low). I controlled my temper and smiled, "No, brother, that's too low."
A woman looked at clothes for an hour and chose two, but said she'd come back when her husband gets paid in 3 days. I was furious, but smiled and said, "Okay, auntie, come back with uncle."
A guy came with his girlfriend, and they were super picky. I lost my patience and said, "If you're rich, why are you wasting time here? Go to a fancy mall!"
The employee apologized to the guy and told me, "You need to be patient, brother. You just started."
At the end of the day, I calculated the profit: 820 taka. For 3 days, I earned 4020 taka. It was hard work, but I learned a lot.
That night, dad gave me 10,000 taka. I said, "Dad, I realized how hard it is to earn money. I don't need the money for Cox's Bazar anymore."
Dad was a bit upset, "Don't be a know-it-all. Your friends are going, you should go too."
I held his hand and said, "Dad, I see greatness in your eyes. You're the one who puts a smile on my face, no matter what."
At dinner, I told dad, "I'll work at the shop from now on. We don't need 2 employees."
Dad didn't reply, just said, "Why is the curry so spicy?" 😊 I know he's hiding his tears. That's what dads do 😥
Love you, mom and dad ♥️
