I ventured out of my comfort zone a hair and entered a project of mine (a hare) for the first time ever - it took home first place for crochet dolls at Saanich Fair this year!

Very proud of how far my crochet skills have progressed in the three years I've been at it. I'm going to keep pushing myself further and continue exploring mixed medium projects with crochet as the primary craft involved as I've been really enjoying that kind of creation lately.

Thanks to the fiber arts community (online and locally) for being such a great support over these years and helping me keep going when I wanted to quit (right at the beginning when I wasn't immediately perfect at crochet lol).

NOT AVAILABLE| Dark Elf Jovie ⭐

Finally got a chance to try out Zia 's dark elf Jovie mod, and I'm a huge fan!

Hand-painted star button, painted ear colouration, and lots of extra bits and bobs attached to make this guy shine (literally).

He found a new home almost immediately at Vic RenFaire Society this past weekend. Thank you to the person who took him home! 💚

Rare actual photo of me in your feed!!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by at Vic RenFaire Society this Saturday was to say hi or to take something home! I really appreciate getting to chat with everyone (and dress up in a gaudy costume) at markets and this was no different.

You nearly sold me out of all my crochet stock, too!

So proud of how these girls turned out 🩷💛

These are some of the bigger crochet dolls I've been working on lately! Once again big thanks to Nicole Baldo for creating such an incredible 2-in-1 crochet pattern for the most whimsical cottagecore pair imaginable! I can't imagine splitting them up, so at future markets while they'll have their own prices I will also be offering a healthy discount for taking the pair of them together.

I haven't posted many projects lately - I've been knee deep in prep for my busiest craft fair / market season of the year! I've had a lot going on behind the scenes that I'm hoping I'll be able to share once things settle down a bit.

When I saw this pattern by Nicole Baldo though, I pretty much had to drop everything to tackle it because I just fell in love - there's a matching teacup doll included in the crochet pattern that I'll be making next, too!

At 19" tall, this is probably one of my largest art dolls, though the photos don't really show it; I had to squish her onto the shelf I use as my photo box.

Eye: 28mm w/ glitter insert

There's something to be said about combining needle felting with crochet!

So far I've been appreciating it for adding details without excess bulk - things like mushroom spots especially, I don't love crocheting and sewing on because they always end up looking a bit lumpy, wonky and generally oversized.

I'm excited to integrate this into some other projects - I think it'll be a great way to add moss or "embroidered" details on some of my art dolls' little outfits! Stay tuned.

I always have big plans for recording and taking photos of my booth setup when I'm at markets... It almost never happens, largely because I forget until about 30 seconds after teardown is done. 😅

Stickers featured in the still portion of this reel are NOT by me, but Killin & Tay Studios, who hand draws and colours each design herself! You can pick some of her stickers and art up at any of our joint markets (like Victoria Pride, for example) over the next few months.
