Thanks, Spruce Grove for showing us such a warm welcome. We were grateful today to meet some folks that got most of our jokes, liked our jam and sold us out of cinnamon rolls early on. Thank you for being excited about our rhubarb (we are too!) and for listening to me ramble on after you made the mistake of asking me about my chickens..

I’ll go first:

I found a dozen eggs on my bedside nightstand the other night that I don't recall leaving there. They were fertile turkey eggs 🤦🏻‍♀️

We got so busy homesteading and stuff the last few days that we completely forgot to tell you our news!

We're popping up today at the new Spruce Grove Farmer's Market - the Market at the Elevator. It's our first time here so we're excited to check it out and meet some new vendors and all the new to us community members. We have absolutely no idea where we're going so we'll update you when we get there... Ps... How did anyone get anywhere before Google?

We hope to see lots of new faces today as we share all our Homesteading products with you new community 😍. As is our way, we have loads of samples so come by just for a taste. No obligation to buy... Just to try 😋

So what all did we pack up to bring?

Well... We've got fresh eggs today, rainbow colored chicken eating eggs and some for hatching! Duck eggs too... for eating.. And we brought duck egg singles if you'd like to try one before committing to a dozen

I was out early this morning picking fresh chives and pulling up rhubarb so we'll have some to offer today on our table. Lilacs will be ready to pick in about 10 minutes so we might get some next year 😂

We made some bread, of course (no homestead is complete with out homemade bread), along with some cookies, sourdough cinnamon rolls, two kinds of biscotti, homemade marshmallows (lady grey and lemon flavor this week 😍 you must try these!). We also brought along our seasoning blends, homemade granola, pancake mix,elderberry syrup kits, several unique flavors jams (like raspberry, rose and lemon, or mixed berry with red wine and black pepper), lavender syrup, candied nuts, lavender lemonade cordial, infused honeys, bath tea

We probably packed other stuff too.. You'll have to come see us today to find out! Table opens at 10 am... See you there?!

Happy Saturday y'all! The Farmstand trailer is restocked for the day today with fresh eggs, bread, sourdough cinnamon rolls (limited quantities), two kinds of biscotti, fresh cookies, new marshmallows and some other stuff..
It's too early, I can't remember what 🤣🤣

Also PSA... this new cookie recipe.. I just put a few out to the stand .. I'll make more tomorrow if these sell today. They might just be my Opus Magnus.. My masterpiece... Mr This says this is my best cookie trial yet..

It's a giant Browned butter cookie packed with cinnamon toast crunch cereal, toasted walnuts, white chocolate chips and extra browned milk powder for that cereal milk flavour.. Then creamy tangy cinnamon drizzle holds it all together and a pinch of good flaky sea salt is just 🤌 .

Chewy, crispy, buttery.. DELICIOUS 😋

A considerable amount of time per day must be budgeted for distribution of 'pets and scritchies'.

There are many demands on these hands, the pest control service contractors require payment.

Also.. Why the p**p shelf in the rooster coop is the best place she can find to lay her eggs is beyond me considering she free ranges and literally sleeps in a tree..

Only way it could tickle me more is if it was pickle bread (iykyk)...

but the chives are up in the garden and I’m taking advantage 😂

No market for us today, friends

Mr. This is staying back at the homestead with a buddy for rooster processing day (glamorous homestead life but we're happy to have the freezer topped up and create some extra space in the backyard) while I make a supply run into the city and sneak in some much-needed snuggles with my sweet boy and grandbaby.

Truthfully, after a very full and very busy winter/spring/May long weekend, the farmstand and homestead need a little extra love and attention right now too. Sometimes this life looks like beautiful markets, marshmallows and focaccia … and sometimes it looks like weeds, compost, feed bins, dirt under the fingernails, muddy boots, and catching up where we can.

We’ll be moving and restocking the farmstand over the next couple days and settling back into our little rhythm here at home, so we'll keep you updated on what we're up to as much as we can!

Another market under our belt at Alberta Beach and we sold out of almost everything we baked for the day! What a crazy good compliment, I'm honestly beaming 🥰🥰 .

We're so grateful for the crazy amount of support we receive from this community. I'm constantly blown away by your curiosity and openness to trying the new things we bring...

And I was so graful for the amazing help from our new friend Christina! When we realized that Mr. That had a scheduling conflict that would have left me on my own for the market this week, I was a bit concerned. But Christine showed up bright and early to help load the truck and come to the market with me to help set up, pass out samples, chat with customers and generally watch things while I napped in the sun. Thanks again for making the day possible and enjoyable!

And its easy... Easy like Sunday morning!

We're all loaded up and on the way to see you in Alberta Beach today!

AND Farmstand is restocked with all the basics and we've added fresh this morning :

- Buttermilk Cheddar chive biscuits
- Creamy Brown sugar sourdough Cinnamon Rolls
- Candied walnuts
- Garlic , chive and cheddar sourdough focaccia
- Earl grey butter sponge cake with blueberry lavender glaze

And I'm not gonna lie! I'm super impressed with this last item:
-Jelly donut inspired mini foccacia flights!

This is 4 homemade sweet sourdough focaccia loaves, baked perfectly and then stuffed with jam and coated completely with glaze. There's apricot and almond, strawberry, blueberry lemon, and raspberry.. Seriously.. These are so good.. And really pretty.
