I found a hole that I liked, got in it and took a picture.
What an adventure this trip turned into.😅
Got up at 2AM (after only 4 hrs sleep) to catch a sunrise in Lion's Head (which is a 3.5 hr drive for me).
Let's start by saying I should never trust a weather app. The forecast I was given was party cloudy until morning in which case if would become overcast. Well let me tell you, I drove into the clouds and by the time I had made it to Lion's Head it was snowing.🌨️ Needless to say I knew that there wouldn't be much to see beyond daybreak, so I opted to stay in my car and take a nap.😴
After my much needed nap, I made it out on the trail and got to enjoy Lion's Head ALL TO MYSELF!😁 It was windy and the skies were grey but the view was still spectacular!!😍
Eventually I made way back to my car trying to plan my next destination. Originally the idea was to head to Tobermory but with such grey skies and so little snow I decided to make my way back south in search of the white fluffy stuff.❄️❄️
My second location did NOT disappoint!🌨️❄️💙 So much snow! And to boot, I got to be the first on this trail since the last big snow fall so I only had markers to guide me and my fingers crossed that every step into the deep snow didn't end up with me slipping or falling through an empty space.
I did make it to my destination with a waterfall I hadn't seen since last year when it was frozen over and I could walk behind it. Currently it is flowing and looks completely different.😃 (This is what I love about nature, depending on so many factors it can look so different every time you visit).
After my waterfall I knew my time was coming to an end and I hit the road before my exhaustion set in. I did however get to enjoy a beautiful SUNSET on my drive home.🌇 When I did make it home I fell asleep only wake for something to eat and again to put the kids to bed and brush my teeth, then I went to bed and slept 11 hours. 😴😴😴😴😴
All in all, it was a good day. Lots of hiccups in the day but nothing a the girl can't handle.😉
How was your weekend?? Did you find yourself outside or are you still tucked up inside keeping warm?
