๐ŸŸ INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT: SMOKED PANLA FISH

That rich, smoky flavour that takes your soups and stews to another level! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Smoked Panla Fish is a favourite in many West African kitchens. Its distinctive smoky taste makes it delicious in Egusi soup, vegetable soup, okra, beans, stews, rice dishes and more. ๐Ÿฒ

And since weโ€™re exploring Egusi, Panla is one of those ingredients you can add for an extra layer of traditional flavour. โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒด EGUSI WEEK: INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT โ€” PALM OIL (EPO PUPA) โค๏ธ

That beautiful colour and rich, traditional flavour starts with the right ingredients!

Today weโ€™re highlighting Palm Oil (Epo Pupa) โ€” a staple in many African kitchens and an important ingredient in Egusi soup, vegetable soups, beans, stews and so much more.

โœจ Tip: A small amount of palm oil goes a long way! It gives Egusi soup its signature rich red colour, deepens the flavour, and adds that authentic traditional taste that makes homemade dishes feel just like home.

Remember the Egusi recipe we shared? Palm oil is one of the ingredients that brings it all together. ๐Ÿฒโœจ

When Preye came into my life, I began learning so much more about the unique needs of African skin and Afro hair. Watching her care for her son Mofeโ€™s hair opened my eyes to the challenges many families face with dryness, breakage, and moisture retention.

Thatโ€™s what inspired us to create Kinky Coils โ€˜Fro Balm โ€” a product designed to help nourish, soften, moisturize, and manage Afro hair with care.

Then one weekend while Mofe was spending a guysโ€™ weekend with Bowman and I, Preye noticed his skin was looking ashy. That moment sparked the creation of our แปŒshun Body Cream โ€” formulated to provide deep, lasting hydration and leave skin looking healthy, radiant, and moisturized all day long.

Most people donโ€™t realize that แปŒshun is a Yoruba Orisha associated with fresh water, beauty, love, fertility, and prosperity. The name felt like a beautiful fit for a cream created to nourish skin and leave it looking healthy, radiant, and cared for.

Today, I was surprised with some exciting news: Preye delivered our products to SEWA African Market on Merigomish Rd, and Mt. Thom Soap Company officially has a new retail account.

Thank you to everyone supporting Mt.Thom Soap Company and Kinky Coils. And thank you Preye, Tobi, Oyinda, and Mofe for trusting me in this journey. โค๏ธ
