❤️ THIS ONE IS WORTH THE READ! 🥹❤️
Hey everyone! 👋 With so many new faces here, I wanted to share a little bit about the person behind Fefe’s Events, why I started doing this, and how on earth I ended up here.
First things first… this is not my full-time job! I actually work a full-time job that, strangely enough, has absolutely nothing to do with either of my businesses! On top of that, I’m the proud owner of Fefe's Custom Designs, which has been operating for almost FIVE years now.
And yes… somewhere along the way I apparently decided that between working full-time and running one business, what I really needed was another one. 😂 But the truth is, I am genuinely obsessed with organization, creativity, bringing people together and building something special for our local community.
There’s also a really important part of this story… I used to be a vendor too! For years, I attended all sorts of vendor markets with Fefe’s Custom Designs, and I carry those experiences with me into every single Fefe’s Event. It’s actually one of the biggest reasons we do things a little differently around here.
I KNOW the week before a market. The late nights, the last-minute orders, the “I’ll eat when I finish this”, the running on caffeine and very little sleep… 😅 And then you finally get to the market and somehow YOU STILL DON’T EAT.
So when I started planning my own events, I decided… not at my markets. ❤️
Our vendors get complimentary snacks, drinks, coffee & tea, AND meals included with their booking. And for anyone attending their first Fefe’s Event thinking, “She probably just means a granola bar and a coffee…” Nope. I mean we are FEEDING you! I remember exactly what it was like being on the other side of that vendor table, and no matter how much these events grow, I never want to forget that.
Now for the crazy part… Fefe’s Events basically started because of ONE random conversation at my sister-in-law’s wedding.
In October 2025, we were attending my sister-in-law’s wedding at Avalon Karate, which is now the home of all our markets. The gym mats were gone, the room was completely open, and my brother-in-law (Owner of AVK) looked at me and said something along the lines of, “Felicia, you could do amazing things in here running your own markets.”
Well… apparently that was all the encouragement I needed. 😂
Fast forward to December 2025 and our FIRST EVER Fefe’s Event happened! And because I apparently thrive under unnecessary pressure, I planned the entire thing in approximately FIVE WEEKS. Was I crazy? Probably. Was it absolutely magical? YES.
And somehow, here we are. In less than ONE YEAR, I’ve planned three markets, this little page has grown to over 400 amazing followers, and I’ve had the chance to meet so many incredible local small business owners along the way.
But I definitely don’t do any of this alone! I have a small team of helpers who are THE ABSOLUTE BEST, my amazing business partner in crime Nathaniel Besso, who encouraged me to take this crazy idea and run with it, and of course, my husband... who probably questions my life choices every time the words “Okay, so I have another idea…” come out of my mouth. 😂
And one of the biggest thank-you's has to go to OUR VENDORS! Some of you have been here since the very first market. You took a chance on something brand new, came back for the second one, then the third, and now some of you are getting ready to join us AGAIN.
You’ve supported my ideas, given me feedback, recommended our events to other vendors, shared our posts and helped turn this little idea into something much bigger than I ever expected it to become this quickly. I notice it, I appreciate it, and I will never take it for granted. ❤️
Because after all the planning, spreadsheets, applications, emails, floor plans, advertising and inevitable last-minute chaos... my absolute favourite part is still when the doors finally open. I get to walk around, chat with everyone, see the incredible displays, watch people shopping, hear the room buzzing and have that little moment of… “Holy crap… we actually did this.” 🥹
Some people think I’m crazy, my husband certainly does 😂, but when the market is happening and I get to stand back and see everything come together, it is SO worth it.
And the craziest part? We are still just getting started.
Three markets under my belt, just over 400 followers, an incredible group of vendors who continue to come back, and a community that seems to show us more support with every single event. If THIS is what our first year looks like, I honestly cannot imagine where we’re going next.
