Family Farms Day Site #4 – Rages Farm 🥒🍓

We’re excited to welcome Rages Farm back for the 13th annual Family Farms Day! Today, this 6+ acre commercial agricultural property distributes cucumbers, tomatoes, corn, and peppers to grocery stores across Vancouver Island, while providing jobs for more than 45 local people. They also feature u-pick strawberries for their extended season and large scale greenhouse gowing.

The farm’s story began in 1961, when Ivar and Patricia Rage started with cows and a small vegetable stand at their carport. By the mid-1970s, all 40 acres of their land were under cultivation, and by the 1980s they shifted their focus fully to greenhouse production.

What started as a small family venture has grown into one of the Valley’s most productive farms—a true example of resilience, innovation, and community commitment.
