Foothills Livestock Coop

Foothills Livestock Coop One Stop Cattle Financing In 1996 someone had a vision. The need for a Breeders Co-op was deemed a necessity for farmers that had Bred Heifers.

The Program started with Bred Heifers in mind but the need to expand to Cows and Cow/Calf pairs soon became a necessity as well. In the beginning, the Co-op served people of the area within a 50 mile radius. Word began to spread and calls were received for members outside this area and the Co-op began to grow. Within 3 years we were expanding fast across the province. Now our boundaries have sprea

d from Alberta to British Columbia and Saskatchewan. With this growth, a Feeders division was implemented to compliment the needs of the Breeders division.

Silage can be a cost-effective way to maximize the amount of feed produced per acre as well as provide some flexibility in the ration to enable mixing of other less expensive feed ingredients.

🪙On the flip side, it requires attention to ensure proper fermentation, and the silage harvest can be expensive and intense.

Hear directly from producers about their top tips for a smooth silage experience. ⬇️
