Career Path Association (CPA)

Career Path Association (CPA) utsccpa.ca The purpose of Career Path Association will be to help students find out which career paths are best for them.

Also, the club will provide resources and approaches in obtaining CA, CFA, CMA, CGA, CSC, and CHRP other business destinations, as well as to enhance students’ knowledge of the requirements of each career destination. The Career Path Association will enhance the educational, recreational, social, or cultural environment of the University of Toronto Scarborough by creating networking opportunities

between students and outside employers as well as senior students during recreational events. Also, it will inform students of various career choices that are available for them, provide insights on the methods to achieve the desired destination, and help students, non-coop students in particular, to get prepared for their resumes, cover letters, and interviews.

Attention Please Guys~
CPA is now hiring assistants for 8 different departments, totaling 10 positions whose qualifications and job descriptions are listed below. Please take a look.

1.Event Department:
Job Description: Overall responsibility is to organize and plan events, this includes orientation, networking sessions and workshops. Being part of this department you will be working closely with the marketing department in promoting and doing booth hours.
Qualifications:
-Excellent written and verbal communicative ability
-Previous experience in event planning, marketing or operation is an asset.
-Strong multitasking skills
-Creative and innovative, able to think under pressure
-Highly organized and is able to prioritize
-A team player and has great interpersonal skills
-Car + license is an asset (not a requirement)
Number of Assistants Needed: 2

2. Marketing Department:
Job Description: Acting as an ambassador for CPA at events, conferences and external engagements. Setting up booth, making classroom announcement and putting up posters for our events.
Qualification:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skill
- Passionate, confident and outgoing individual is an asset
- Creative and innovated in finding new methods to reach target audience
Number of Assistants Needed: 1

3. Design Department:
Job Description: Design flyers/posters with Photoshop for CPA events and enhance club image.
Qualifications:
-Excellent drawing and photography skills
-Knowledge of DSLR (camera) and Photoshop is an asset
Number of Assistants Needed: 1

4. Sponsorship Department:
Job Description: Responsible for working with the team in seeking and securing sponsorships from external organizations and maintaining relationships for future partnerships.
Qualifications:
-Friendly and outgoing with excellent teamwork, oral and written communication skills
-Well organized and good time management skills
-Previous sponsorship experience and a car are assets.
Number of Assistants Needed: 1

5. Public Relation Department:
Job Description: Maintaining a good relationship with external clubs and organizations. Seeking new opportunities for cooperation in order to enhance club image and reputation.
Qualifications:
-Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills;
-Good teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
-Business awareness and a good knowledge of current school affairs
-Having a G2 licence and a car is an asset.
Number of Assistants Needed: 1

6. Finance Department:
Job Description: Finance is responsible for internal cash control, journal entries, and funding applications.
Qualification:
-Enthusiastic and confident
-Detail-oriented
-Exceptional accounting, data management, and interpersonal skills
Number of Assistants Needed: 2

7. Human Resources Department:
Job Description: This position is responsible for internal events such as annual recruitments, internal meetings. Moreover, we manage the club email account. Sending regular update emails to all staff and members is our routine.
Qualification:
-Enthusiastic and confident
-Detail-oriented
-Strong Interpersonal and communication skills
Number of Assistants Needed: 1

8. IT Department:
Job Description: Maintain club website and add necessary enhancements.
Qualifications:
-HTML/CSS knowledge is necessary
-Asset: PHP, JS, LESS/SASS.

Having trouble writing cover letters and resumes? Well look no further! CPA will be hosting a cover letter and resume workshop this coming Friday, July 31st from 2-4pm in IC 130. Our team will provide you with many useful tips to get started. We will also be serving plenty of snacks and drinks. It’s free for CPA members but only $5 for non-members. Sign up at our booth located at student centre from 12-2pm Monday-Thursday. Don’t miss out!
