Coffee + Art Spotlight: Colombia 🇨🇴☕️
Sourced from 25 smallholder farmers across Huila, Colombia, this lot was handled with real intention, hand-picked cherries, 45–50 hours of fermentation, fully washed, then slowly sun-dried. Pink Bourbon’s process isn’t easy. Ripeness takes discernment, placement in the field matters, and every step asks for care.
🦋 About the Art
“I’ve always loved spotting butterflies in Colombia, even before knowing it held the world’s most. The varieties are astounding: hallucinating transparencies, brightly coloured bodies, geometries that mystify. I first saw the Morfo Azul after a long hike in the Sierra Nevada. We cooled off beneath a waterfall when two appeared, illuminated by the same warm light that made the river flicker like gold. Their wings, wide as my hand, were first iridescent cobalt, then a glistening cerulean, then stark, midnight blue.
This paper collage dreams of butterflies that may or may not exist, representing the supernatural and often magical realism of my country.” - Laura Rojas
