SPRING PLANTING AT THE EAST END FOOD HUB 🌱

As part of Doors Open Toronto, is bringing their annual Spring Planting event to the East End Food Hub!

Come explore the building, learn a little about its history, and leave with a little seedling to remember us by.

This free, family-friendly drop-in will focus on edible plants that connect back to our food security work. Pick up a ready-to-plant seedling while supplies last, or start a new plant from seed with supplies and take-home instructions included.

Join us on Monday, May 25th for our monthly Community Dinner! This month's dinner, sponsored and hosted by RBC Management, will consist of chicken and vegetable burritos (vegetarian and halal options available) as well as a delicious array of desserts. Take-out snack bags will also be available upon exit.

As per usual, Gab & Games, our social and resource event, will be held after dinner from 6pm to 7pm in the glassed area at the back of the sanctuary hall.

We look forward to breaking bread with you!

DOORS OPEN TORONTO RETURNS MAY 23 & 24!

Come explore the East End Food Hub, our collaborative community food space operating out of the historic Glen Rhodes United Church building!

For nearly 100 years, this building has been a place of gathering, care, and community support. Today, it continues that legacy through food access programs, community dinners, a weekly farmers’ market, family programming, worship services and neighbourhood connection.

We’re so excited to share that the Gang of 4 Artist Collective is supporting the East End Food Hub through their art show at .projects!

This Sunday, April 26, is the final day to check it out, and one very special piece is up for grabs.

The Gang of 4 have created a one-of-a-kind “Face in the Hole” piece, with 100% of proceeds going directly toward our community programs at the East End Food Hub 💛

Featuring work by Randal Gordy Lee , Al (RUNT) Currie , Michael Zaharuk , and Vince Vaitiekunas

This Sunday, April 26 the has an extra special hands-on activity planned at the markets kids corner!!

Join Heidi Breier of Paper Powered for a hands-on recycled paper-making activity. Kids can get their hands wet, learn how beautiful earth-friendly paper is made from scraps, and make their very own sheet to take home.

No supplies needed. No experience needed. No fee. Just drop in!

First come, first served. Recommended for ages 8 and up. All children must be assisted by an accompanying adult.
