Reposted from Nourish East End

Join us on Monday, July 27th for a special edition of our monthly Community Dinner - our very first outdoor summer picnic! We have planned a simple but delicious meal of hog dogs (served on homemade buns graciously provided to us by Blue Seed Toronto) and coleslaw, as well as watermelon slices, ice cream bars, freezies, and cookies for dessert (vegetarian and halal options will be available). We will have very limited seating reserved for those who need it most, so please bring your own blanket and/or chair to sit on, and if you have any extras that you can share with your neighbours, even better!

📍Ashbridge Estate Park (1444 Queen Street East)
📆Monday, July 27, 2026
🕔5:00PM to 7:30PM (Dinner: 5:00PM-6:30PM; Music and Activities: 6:30PM-7:30PM)
♿The picnic site is at the bottom of a gentle grassy slope, so we will be including an accessible guest seating area at the top (where servers will fetch their meals).
🚽Accessible washrooms are available in the on-site building
🅿Parking at the site is very limited and needed for the volunteer drivers, so taking the TTC or parking on nearby streets is appreciated.
☔In case of rain, we will revert to the usual indoor East End Food Hub location for dinner (in the basement). Decision will be made on Sunday, July 26.

It was so great having and at the last Sunday, connecting with our neighbours and sharing more info about all the community programs happening at the East End Food Hub!

A huge thank you to the farmers who generously donate fresh produce at the end of every market!! These donations go directly to the Nourish East End Food Bank, and distributed on Wednesdays.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We all can’t wait to be back on July 19th!

As part of Doors Open Toronto, is bringing their annual Spring Planting event to the East End Food Hub!

Come explore the building, learn a little about its history, and leave with a little seedling to remember us by.

This free, family-friendly drop-in will focus on edible plants that connect back to our food security work. Pick up a ready-to-plant seedling while supplies last, or start a new plant from seed with supplies and take-home instructions included.
