****Warning - photos are not for the faint of heart****

Overdue post - Updates and Reports for those following.

Kidneys: I’ve finally started taking dialysis treatments again. Over the last few months I’ve retained quite a bit of fluid. As much as I can still produce urine my kidney function needs a reboot. If I work diligently with the doctors with controlling my levels I will have another chance to ween off again.

Amputation: Healing is going well. I am wearing what’s called a shrinker. That will help in the shaping of my limb. I am hoping to return to Rehab very soon to continue my therapy for a prosthetic. I am optimistic. As for now it’s day by day. If you can meet your daily goals - the long term goals won’t seem so hard.

Other medical issues: Everything continues to heal. The days seem to drag and time seems to stop sometimes. I’ve been having more agitated days than better days lately. Just an accumulation of everything happening plus my mental state has put me in some dark days. Snapping at people, crying obsessively, scratching my body to pieces. Feeling I want to escape from everything and everyone. It’s only by the grace of God I’m still sane.

I’ve added some photos of what’s been happening in the background of my filtered Snapchat’s and brave smiles.

Back in February I posted a picture of what my hand looked like from the poor circulation from the fistula. After having the fistula removed and completely off of dialysis since then, my wounds have healed dramatically and even the nails grew back. (Which the doctor said I would lose part of my bandaged finger!) Pictures below is the transformation from Feb-May.

Day 1:
Happy Monday! So it begins..my journey’s next goal. I am pairing up with Kelly White and Justin White in the 30 day challenge of NO TAKEOUT! This will entail no drive-thru’s (food or drink) and no delivery service. Not only a goal to save money, but a goal to keep wellness to our bodies. I encourage you today to omit one unhealthy thing from your life and try the 30 day challenge along with us! We’d love to hear what your goal would be for the challenge. Let’s encourage each other.
Much love!! 💜💜

My first week of one on one with the physiotherapist went great! We are trying to build my stamina in order to catch up with the tons of strength I already have! Back when I started dialysis she had me “cycling” my arms to keep up with strength before they diverted the cords to my arm from my chest. The before picture shows you what I was able to do. Just this week, the after video proves how far I’ve really come! I am now peddling with my feet, and not attached to a dialyzer! It’s an unfathomable feeling the second chance I’m getting at this life. I’ve been spared for a reason. Time to prove it! 💪🧡💜 (video in comments)

It’s been a while since my last post. Not being on dialysis has given me so much time. I’m starting a new regimen with my physiotherapist and visiting her twice a week for extensive exercise and activity. Starting today is my new routine. Will definitely keep you folks updated on my working progress. 💪💪

This is a big deal for me. Not only am I out of the wheelchair, I’m actually participating in events without it. There was a time my anxiety was so bad I’d fear leaving the house in case I had to climb stairs or walk too far. This is just another prime example how life altering this tool can be! ❤️🦋

I am bursting at the seams with excitement!! I have an overflowing heart of thanks to the Lord for his mercy over my life. He has tested my strength and my faith, yet has never left my side! I am one of many vessels he has pulled through the trench and I am reaping the rewards! I will shed more light on my extraordinary report/update soon!! I encourage you to NEVER loose sight of your self worth and well being. God’s plan is solid, and will never fail! Remember he is always with you, it’s only during the test the teacher remains quiet. ❤️

This is an extraordinary update:
Thursday past I finally was able to see a surgeon for options on what to do in regards to dealing with the poor circulation in my hand. Ultimately, the fingers are in bad shape and the lack of blood flow to the hand will make for the loss of my fingers. We have decided to take away the fistula in the arm (where I receive dialysis now) and to insert a port back in the chest. Surgery is booked for the 15th of this month.

Friday past, my doctor approached me at dialysis for a talk. She said to me she was looking over my recent blood work/tests and was pleasantly surprised at how “normal” my levels were. We’re talking BP, hemoglobins and A1C, Calcium, phosphorus and Creatine. She was confident enough to tell me that my kidney function has improved enough for us to try only one day a week for treatment!!! Furthermore, She is also optimistic enough to not proceed with the chest port altogether and to fully come off dialysis!!!! There was one other time I felt so overwhelmed with mixed emotions and that was when I started dialysis. Now those same feelings are over coming off!!! My heart is so full and I am so grateful to the support and guidance I’ve had throughout this journey. To be able to actually see light over the horizon is an extraordinary feeling. I am on this journey for life but the paths have been easier to cope. The obstacles have been manageable and I couldn’t feel anymore blessed! This year has started on my better foot! I can get use to checking off those boxes on the health list!
🙏❤️😁
