Zukunft oder Wunschdenken? 🇯🇲 Ein Supermarkt hat mich wegen meiner Produkte kontaktiert, ich habe mich mit dem Thema beschäftigt, eine Aufstellung gemacht, einen kleinen Katalog erstellt und wurde dann geghostet.
Warum gibt es im deutschen Supermarkt ganze Regale für asiatische, italienische oder mexikanische Lebensmittel aber keine karibischen Produkte?
Seit über 5 Jahren beschäftige ich mich mit jamaikanischen Lebensmitteln, importiere Produkte und sehe jeden Tag, was bei meinen Kund:innen wirklich gefragt ist.
Und seit mich ein Supermarkt wegen meiner Produkte kontaktiert hat, denke ich immer wieder: Warum eigentlich nicht ein richtiges Karibik-Regal?

Caribbean shelves in German supermarkets – the future or just wishful thinking? 🇯🇲
A supermarket reached out to me about my products. I started looking into the idea, put together a product selection, created a small catalogue… and then got ghosted.
But after spending so much time thinking about it, I haven’t been able to get one idea out of my head:
Why do German supermarkets have entire sections dedicated to Asian, Italian or Mexican food – but hardly anything Caribbean?
I’ve been importing and selling Jamaican food for over five years now, and every day I get to see which products people actually love and come back for.
So I keep thinking:
Why not have a whole Caribbean section?
A little piece of Jamaica right there in the supermarket. 🇯🇲
Not just three random products tucked away in the “international” aisle – but a category of its own.
