Unser Lösungskonzept ist eine Kombination aus Agroforstwirtschaft mit der solidarischen Landwirtschaft als Vertriebssystem. SowFair entstand aus der Frustration der rapiden Zerstörung unserer Wälder und Umwelt und aus der Inspiration durch die Errungenschaften von Ernst Götsch durch syntrophic agriculture in Brasilien. Während nur 30% der Erdoberfläche von Wald bedeckt sind, wird auf etwa 38% dieser Fläche Landwirtschaft betrieben. In Deutschland sind 32% des Landes bewaldet und sogar 52% wird für landwirtschaftliche Zwecke genutzt. Da diese landwirtschaftlichen Flächen in einer wachsenden Konsumgesellschaft stetig ausgebaut oder neu erschlossen werden, müssen häufig Wälder abgeholzt oder verkleinert werden. Als Folge davon verschlechtert sich das Weltklima, was sich besonders in Deutschland durch immer häufiger auftretende Starkstürme beobachten lässt. SowFair glaubt fest an die Möglichkeit diese landwirtschaftliche Fläche in essbare Wälder umzuwandeln, die Waldfläche lokal und global mehr als zu verdoppeln und dadurch viele Probleme in Folge von Abholzung und Monokulturen, komplett oder mindestens teilweise zu lösen - von Bodenerosion, Verlust von Biodiversität, (Landflucht und Bauer/Binnenland Armut) bis hin zur Klimaerwärmung. SowFair fördert nachhaltige Anbaumodelle, auch bekannt als essbare Wälder, in Verbindung mit solidarischer Landwirtschaft und dadurch auch den lokalen Konsumenten. Konkret heißt das, dass wir Dir eine Plattform bieten, in der sich interessierte Konsumenten aus einer Region zusammenfinden. Diese Gruppe unterstützt einen Landwirt aus der unmittelbaren Nähe. Die Konsumenten bezahlen einen monatlichen Beitrag für die wöchentliche Lieferung frischer biologischer Lebensmittel. Die finanzielle Sicherheit und regelmäßige Abnahme der Nahrungsmittel reduzieren die Abhängigkeit des Bauern von Großkonzernen oder Monokulturen. Die Landwirte haben durch Deine Unterstützung die Möglichkeit, sorgenfrei auf nachhaltige Anbaumodelle umzustellen. Solidarische Landwirtschaft bringt aber noch viele weitere Vorteile! Beispiele dafür sind die Vernetzung von Mitgliedern, neue Kenntnisse für ein nachhaltiges Konsumverhalten und Spaß an gemeinsamen Events einer Solidarischen Landwirtschaft (SoLaWi). SowFair glaubt fest daran, dass diese Vorteile den Umgang des Menschen mit der Natur langfristig verbessern können.

SowFair was born out of the frustration due to the current rate of deforestation and environmental destruction worldwide and the inspiration brought by the achievements of syntrophic agriculture applied by Ernst Götsch in Brazil. On our Website you can learn more about the consequences of deforestation and monocultures on our environment, local farmers and the local economy. You can also find out how YOU can help solve these problems with the combination of sustainable agricultural production models and community supported agriculture. Only 30% of the worlds’ territories are covered with forests and another 38% are being used for agriculture. 32% of Germany´s territory is forest and 52%is used for agricultural purposes. Since the land which is used for agriculture is steadily expanded due to our growing consumption behaviour, more often forests are cut down, when not in Germany, somewhere else, to cover Germany´s demand. This worsens our climate in general, which can be seen in the increasing number of storms all over Germany in the past years. SowFair believes that it is possible to revert agricultural fields into forests with syntrophic agriculture, in order to partly or completely solve agricultural and monoculture related problems such as soil erosion, the loss of biodiversity and the climate change. SowFair promotes sustainable agricultural production models in combination with community supported agriculture. We provide a platform on which local groups can be build in order to support a small local farmer who applies syntrophic agriculture. The consumers pay a monthly fee in exchange for a weekly delivery of fresh and organic groceries products. Only due to the financial stability and reduced dependency on big corporations and monoculture the farmers can invest in innovative and sustainable agricultural models such as syntrophic agriculture. But there are many more advantages of community supported agriculture like getting to know people in your community, learning about sustainable consumption and having fun together in YOUR community supported agriculture (CSA) group. SowFair is convinced that all of these advantages can improve the relationship between humans and nature on the long run.
