Yesterday - May 24th, was the 20th anniversary of Mark Auricht's death on Mt Everest. As I went through the day yesterday I was wondering why I was feeling a bit down and in a reflective mood, when I realised that 20years had passed since Mark left us. Last year at this time I was going to share the story of his Everest journey but felt uneasy about it and still do but today was the day to put a post on my blog to complete the process of sharing his story which started with the book that I published in 2017 as a tribute to Mark. Tough walk today from Mt Lofty to Bridgewater and return! Especially after a couple of beverages at the Bridgewater Inn and then uphill all the way back to the car!
