PLEASE, WATCH OVER YOUR CHILDREN
The disturbing story of a woman allegedly s@xually abusing her own female child is a painful reminder that danger does not always come from strangers.
Sometimes, the person we trust to care for our children may be the very person they need protection from.
Parents, please be careful about who you leave your children with. Being a relative, family friend, caregiver, teacher, or someone you have known for years does not automatically make a person safe.
Teach your children about their bodies, boundaries and inappropriate touches. Encourage them to speak up whenever anyone makes them uncomfortable, and most importantly, listen when they talk.
Watch for sudden changes in their behaviour, fear of certain people, withdrawal or unusual behaviour. Don't ignore the signs.
We may not be able to protect our children every second, but we can be more intentional about who has access to them.
Protect your children. Believe them. Listen to them. Don't wait until something terrible happens before you become vigilant.
Our children deserve to grow up feeling safe—not afraid. ❤️🩹
