🥕🥕🥕Good Morning Everyone
I am super Excited to announce 🥕🥕🥕

After many years working for Scott’s Greengrocers @ South Molton selecting the best from our local farms, supporting growers, and serving our community — I’m incredibly proud to share some truly special news.

I am now the official owner of the business, and with that comes a brand‑new name Peamore Market Garden.

This moment is more than a milestone — it’s a dream I’ve carried for years.
To take the reins of a business I’ve poured my heart into, and to continue to select the most incredible produce grown right here in Devon and bring a wide variety of fresh produce from all over the world means everything to me.

South Molton Market has always held a special place in my heart. It’s where I have built relationships with the farmers, local growers and customers who make this community what it is, and where I’ve spent years working alongside Stafford — who now happens to be my husband — at his beautiful flower stall right next to mine.

This market isn’t just where I work. It’s woven into my life.

Although the name is changing, everything you value stays the same:

•The same carefully selected, high‑quality local produce

•The same trusted relationships with nearby farms

•The same commitment to freshness, seasonality, and sustainability

•The same friendly, familiar service

•The same market deals

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far growers, customers, neighbours, and friends it means the world to me. I’m excited to step into this new chapter and continue celebrating the best of our local growers right here in the market that means so much to me.

Here’s to dreams realised, new beginnings, and the same dedication to Local. Seasonal and fresh produce.
And so much more 🍓🍋

Many Thanks
Jo

Cheese meltability has to do with the ratio of water to fat, as well as the strength of the cheese’s protein network. Younger cheeses, which have a higher moisture content, tend to be reliable melters, versus older cheeses, whose moisture content has evaporated over time. On top of that, as cheese ages, its proteins tend to form tighter clumps, making them less effective at binding fat and water together in a smooth matrix. Hence why they release a pool of fat when you try to melt them.

Note: We’ve left “stretchy” melting cheeses off this scale (like Mozzarella) and focused on cheeses that can melt completely into a smooth texture versus those that will release a pool of fat or won’t melt at all.

We love this cheese

Gorwydd Caerphilly from the Trethowan Brothers unites the best of both Welsh and Somerset traditions in cheese. The recipe and bacteria originated in Wales and the cheese itself is made in Somerset by the brothers Todd and Maugan Trethowan. It has a densely crumbly center and complex flavors that are fresh and lemony at the center and become creamy and mushroomy beneath the edible natural rind. This Caerphilly is unique in that it is matured almost twice as long as most Caerphilly made today. Stop in and take home a piece of this unique cheese!
