Delicious mackerel fillets cooked on the BBQ are packed with flavour and guaranteed to elevate your family BBQ 🍋🐟 Perfect served with a crisp, fresh salad — and the best part? They’re incredibly simple to cook.

With the heatwave set to continue all week ☀️ there’s still time to stock up on BBQ fish & seafood — or fill the freezer for sunny days ahead.

If mackerel fillets are your kind of BBQ upgrade, here’s the easiest way to cook them straight from frozen 👇

🐟 Simple BBQ Mackerel Method (from frozen)
✔️ Preheat BBQ to medium heat (not blazing hot)
✔️ Place frozen fillets on foil (skin-side down if applicable)
✔️ Add a drizzle of oil or k**b of butter, salt & pepper, plus optional seasoning:

🍋 Lemon slices
🌶️ Chilli flakes
🧄 Garlic
🔥 Smoked paprika
🥢 Soy sauce & ginger
✔️ Seal into a foil parcel
✔️ Cook for 12–18 minutes (lid closed if possible)
✔️ Open the foil for the last 2–3 minutes for a smoky char

Your fish is ready when it flakes easily and is opaque all the way through 🙌
