The whole point of Trawler’s Basket is to make that an easier sentence to retire.

You pick a fish from the slab. Joe preps it for you on the spot and you go home with it ready to cook. Anything you’re not sure about, just ask. That’s what having a fishmonger is for. And to make your life even easier, we a wide selection of pantry items to your dinner a success.

Two people - Forty years in fish between them. One shop in Borough Green.
Meet Joe, twenty-six years behind the block and soon to be the man behind the counter.
Rebecca - Beck to anyone who’s met her - is the other half of Trawler’s Basket. A commercial fish buyer since 2012 and the one who found this shop. She spotted the listing whilst scrolling property sites and sent it to Joe. He took one look and replied “that is the shop for us”.

Meet Joe. Your new fishmonger, but you might have bought fish from him before!
During lockdown, Joe ran a fish counter on an Hornet industrial estate where he worked in Borough Green.

Twenty-six years in the trade.. from Billingsgate, to wright brothers and then to pesky with many others in between

Was once Britain’s fastest salmon filleter 👌

But the reason he is opening a shop in Borough Green, specifically, is because of the people who showed up at that counter

Saturday 23rd May- So Close now!!
Five days to go and we're nearly ready- the signs up, the equipment is in and we cannot wait to finally open the doors.

A proper local fishmonger is coming. Fresh fish daily, sourced honestly. Joe will be behind the counter to help you pick well and eat better.

Some news to share

She’s up 🦀 after months of plans, renovations and hard work - the Trawler’s Basket sign is officially on the wall. We (Joseph & Rebecca) are absolutely buzzing, this has been a dream a long time in the making, and seeing the sign above the door for the first time today made it all very, very real. There’s still plenty to do behind the scenes before we throw open the doors, but we couldn’t keep this one to ourselves. Swipe, screenshot, share and stay tuned, because things are about to get fishy 🐠 Big love to everyone who’s cheered us on so far. The best is yet to come 🖤
