✨️Zach's request was simply a vanilla sponge cake, with chocolate buttercream and blue icing 🥰.

Little did he know, it had a surprise inside 🫣💵.

✨️This is the first cake I've done like this and I think it turned out pretty well.

✨️I've always enjoyed making sugarpaste models.

They're not perfect by any means, but it's what got me into doing cakes in the first place, doing each member of 'One Direction' many moons ago 😬.

✨️Another fabulous baker in Hull, was just saying how much the mediums have changed over the years by moving onto plastic and card decorations, which I'm not complaining about as they compliment a cake beautifully and it's all about what the customer wants 😊.

But back in the day, this is how most fondant cakes were finshed.

✨️Luckily I do still get to do some, like these little characters I've been working on this week x

Spaces available on Thursday 22nd October 6-9pm.

✨️Saturday 31st October 11am-1pm

You will learn to fill, stack, crumbcoat and decorate with fondant.

✨️You'll do fondant work using different mediums to decorate your covered cake.

✨️ I popped to a friend's for a brew and a natter, and it would be rude to go empty handed, wouldn't it? 🤔

So I took little box of cuteness, in the form of homemade macrons sandwiched together with royal icing and raspberry jam 😋, and some cute fondant topped flower biscuits 🥰.

9 cake orders including birthdays, a 2 tier christening cake,
a welcome home, a half birthday, and a baby shower 😍

✨️4 boxes of cupcakes,
1 cupcake bouquet,
4 cake tubs,
45 macrons and one giant cookie 🍪

I think I'll go to my volunteer placement tomorrow for a rest 🤣.

My absolute favourites, yum, yum 😋😋

✨️I went to a macron making class last week, which was erm. . . . . . I'll just leave it there 😳🤔.

So thanks to a friend, reminded me I have the recipe in a cook book on my shelf 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️, thanks Beverley Hardy.

✨️So gave them another go, as recent attempts have been binned 😬, and tadaaaa, success 🙌🏻, a few too many ni**le tops 🫣, but hey who's looking?? 😏

Let's do another little about me, it's been a while 😏.

✨️Hi, I'm Hazel 👋🏻!

I've lived in Hull my whole life.

✨️I'll be 55 next month 🤯.

I've only been registered as a home baking business since July 2025, but I've been baking regularly nearly 20 years.

✨️I'm married and it'll be 34 years next month, I got married 2 days before my 21st birthday, my hubby to be was 19 😳.

I have 2 children, a boy and girl, or should I say a man and a woman 😆, who both live in different cities.

✨️I love anything to do with cooking or baking, I'm a full on faffer.

I like to talk, a lot. . . . 🤣.

✨️I rarely watch TV, I'd rather go and bake 😬.

I do have a bit of imposter syndrome, in that I still can't believe, I do what I do.

✨️Anything else you'd like to know?

Black forest cake pot, with chocolate sponge ** now sold**

vanilla buttercream and black cherry jam 😋

✨️And a vanilla sponge with raspberry jam, vanilla buttercream and fresh raspberries 👏🏻.

These are £5 each and will easily feed 2 people 🙏.

I've only done these 2 for now, as impulse posts don't really get a lot of interest, but more can be made 😁.
