At Puddledub, we’re proud of our products and proud of their provenance. The Mitchell family have been farming here in this part of Scotland since 1905 and we practice the same traditional farming values that our ancestors have used for generations. We believe that happy, healthy pigs produce the tastiest, most succulent pork and bacon. Puddledub pigs are home bred and live in a stress-free enviro

nment, sustainably raised on home grown wheat and barley and bedded on straw from our own fields. We take time and care with what we do, we don’t believe in cutting corners and we never have. Each stage of the butchering, curing, smoking and baking is carried out, on our farm, by our skilled team of craft butchers and bakers to ensure low food miles, traceability and unrivalled taste. We offer an extensive selection of some of the finest cured, BBQ, cooked and fresh meat products available. We’re particularly proud of our Great Taste Award winning Picnic Pork Pie, Dry Cured Bacon and Sugar Roasted Ham, and our Steak Pie and Pulled Pork Pie, both Scottish Craft Butcher award winners. Our popular Puddledub sausages are made from only the best shoulder pork, in a seasonal range of 20 flavours, including some gluten free recipes. At Puddledub we ensure the highest welfare standard for our pigs. All our pork comes from animals which are born, reared and processed in Scotland and our farms are independently inspect d to ensure high welfare standards are being maintained.

📣Important announcement regarding our Kirkcaldy Butchers shop Tomorrow! 🥩 🍖 🐷 🏬 🔪

Closure of Puddledub Fine Foods & Butchers Kirkcaldy High St

Last day of trading: Saturday 27th Sept
8.30am to 5pm

It is with great sadness that we’ve made the difficult decision to close our puddledub Butchers shop on Kirkcaldy High Street. We had hoped to have confirmed a sale to a new owner which has now fallen through.

Our last day of trading will be this Saturday 27th September
From 8.30 to 5 pm

We will be discounting and running specials on many items to clear stock and have a great fresh range available

We are still hopeful to find a buyer who can continue to build on the successful business there, which has been running on the high street since 2017. We feel we’ve done a lot over the last few years, including winning numerous industry awards and achieved a high level recognition as well as supporting the high st and community .

We would like to thank all of our customers and neighbours. We will Miss you!

📢 Our Online Shop is closing. Order this week to ensure delivery.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our valued customers who have supported our online shop over the past 15 years. This has been a difficult decision but, after careful consideration, we've concluded that the service is no longer viable for our small family business.

Our online shop will be open for orders until this Sunday 7th September with all final deliveries by Friday 12th September.

To make sure you are covered for Christmas we have popular favourites, chipolatas, streaky bacon & plain pork stuffing available on the website, so you can pre-order your Christmas trimmings and pop them in the freezer!

The best of both worlds 🥩

With the fillet on one side and sirloin on the other, this beautiful piece of grass-fed beef really does provide the best of both..

Here’s our top cooking tips for our T-Bone steak to enjoy in this sunny weather 🌞

1. Add a touch of oil and then season the steak with salt and pepper and place firmly in the pan.

2. Brown on one side and turn and brown on the other and then brown all over. If this means leaning them against the pan side or using a pair of tongs so be it, but don’t jiggle the pan or constantly move the meat. It needs as much heat as possible, so minimum movement is necessary.

3. Once browned all over, reduce the heat to cook to your liking, this may mean straight out – blue – or maybe a couple of minutes for rare and so on. Once cooked allow the steak to rest for at least 5 minutes. It’s a question of balancing the cooking time and resting time, but all steaks need to rest even a well-done one otherwise they will be tough.

Did you know both our smoked gammon steaks and smoked back bacon won Great Taste Awards? ⭐️

You can check out the amazing feedback below from the judges on both our products:

Our back bacon:
‘An attractive rasher of bacon which has caramelised nicely. The ratio of fat is spot-on and the smoke flavour is mild and moreish’

Our smoked gammon steaks:
‘There is a great belt of smoke on the nose which is inviting. It is juicy but with a satisfactory texture. The pork flavour is present and we are left with a lingering and pleasing taste, sweet and smoky’

We are so delighted our products have been presented with such a prestigious award.
