Lovely bit of news to share.

George & Joseph has been featured in the Yorkshire Evening Post as part of UK Small Business Week.

The article talks a bit about how I swapped the boardroom for the cheeseboard, why I started the shop, and why small independent businesses still matter so much to places like Chapel Allerton.

Running a small business is brilliant, exhausting, rewarding, stressful, and occasionally completely ridiculous — often all in the same day. But we’re still here, still cutting proper cheese, still championing brilliant cheesemakers, and still incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to shop with us.

To celebrate Small Business Week, we’re running a little thank you offer:

We know, we know… it’s not cheese.

But when a local indie up the road is making cinnamon buns this good, we’re not going to keep quiet about it.

These beauties from were baked fresh this morning — Biscoff on the left, caramel & pecan on the right. Soft, fluffy, warm, beautifully balanced and not remotely sickly. Just properly, dangerously yummy.

They’ve shared recently that things are a bit tough, so this is your gentle nudge to go and support them. Chapel Allerton is full of brilliant independent businesses, and they only stay here if we use them.

Go get a bun. Maybe two. We won’t judge.

🧀 SAMPLE SATURDAY 🧀

This week we’re serving up little nibbles of Ticklemore — a beautifully fresh, crumbly-soft goat’s cheese with lemony, herby loveliness and a mellow citrusy tang.

It’s one of those cheeses that quietly wins people over. Fresh enough for salads, posh enough for soufflés, and dangerously easy to keep going back for “just one more bit”…

We’re here in Chapel Allerton with the cheese at the ready. Come and get involved!

Jake is the brains behind Eggleston and Lindley — two absolute beauties you’ll find tucked away in our soft cheese counter. Proper cheese, made with care, character and a whole lot of skill.

Kirkham’s Lancashire + Dark Chocolate Orange egg = a bit of an Easter belter.

Buttery, crumbly Kirkham’s has just the right fresh tang to work with bittersweet dark chocolate, while the orange lifts the whole thing and keeps it feeling bright. Rich, balanced, and very hard to stop picking at.

This one’s for the dark chocolate people.
