Some of the bountiful harvest from our community gardens rec this week! Thank you to our grower Aimèe for these pretty little (and big) things.

If you're a Good Food Box subscriber, you'll be seeing some of these goodies - we also sell produce each Wednesday, 5 - 7pm, St Luke's Church on Fernhead Road! Last week we had gorgeous gourds, beets, garlic, basil and more...

Some lovely rainbow chard coming through yesterday afternoon at our Granville Road site. 🥬

Did you know that, where possible, Good Food Box includes organic greens harvested in Kilburn that same day?

We have two sites run by which are planted up with various goodies for our bags. We also offer volunteering and educational sessions for the community. 💚 Come say hi at our Wednesday or Saturday volunteering sessions at Granville Road Play Area.

Shiny, juicy and fully organic tomatoes from Wednesday's Good Food Bag! 🍅

Did you know that cooking these beauties in extra virgin olive oil can actually increase the availability of some nutrients? Tomatoes contain a powerful antioxidant called lycopene that helps the body fight off chemicals that attack and damage cells in the body. Cooking breaks down the fruit's cell walls, making lycopene easier for us to digest... who would have thought!

Did you know that carrot tops are good to eat - and they're full of nutrients, too? 🥕 Today's contained carrots with rather resplendent tops! They bring a herby, earthy flavour with a little bit of bitterness that means they can be easily tossed into lots of dishes.

You can...
🍲 Add them to a soup or stew
🍝 Make a super-green pesto
🧄Sauté them with garlic

We're very excited to be working with and Graham to deliver the veg bags to our various pick up points by cargo bike.

This also makes the veg delivery way more carbon friendly. It's also great to connect with a local independent enterprise who is also supporting localised supply chains.
