No trip to Melton Town Market is complete without a visit to our August Trader of the Month, Smiths of Wymeswold!

Established over 60 years ago, Smiths of Wymeswold has supplied markets in the region with the freshest, finest, free-range eggs. Smiths has been trading eggs for a generation, and Lisa Doe, the founder's niece, is at Melton Town Market every Tuesday, offering a friendly welcome and a choice of fresh chicken, duck, quail and (sometimes) goose eggs.

With specialities like double-yolk eggs, and even local honey, Smiths of Wymeswold brings you local produce and quality you simply won't get in the supermarket. Lisa loves chatting to customers, old and new, and enjoys the camaraderie and atmosphere of Melton Town Market.

Unfortunately due to the fire at the HSBC Bank in Loughborough town today The council have cancelled tomorrow’s market. I’m hoping to stand on Saturday but if I can’t then I’ll hopefully see you next Thursday. Lisa x
