3 years ago, Chris Toone and Olivia Benneh stood in front of the baobab tree and saw our next chapter. was experiencing a rebirth, a nonprofit that had existed for over a decade was redefining itself after successfully building a school, furnishing its programs and handing it off to the community to steward as their own. But now what? One school didn't solve education inequity, building another wasn't the answer.

There was a new plan to fund scholarships for promising students, to solve financial problems on a case-by-case basis for families in need. But where would the funding come from?

The answer was baobab, the tree of life, an ancient source of nutrition. Staring at the dangling fruits, watching the women who farmed them carefully grind them into a fine powder, Chris and Olivia knew Ghana had been nurturing her people since the beginning of time. The solution wasn't in a charity, the solution was in Ghana funding Ghana.

Today, we are partnered with the same people, a group of women farmers in the Northern Region, to offer organic baobab powder to the Ghanaian market. A superfood with the power to heal, rehydrate, and nourish bodies with ancient nutrition, Aya Baobab Powder is available exclusively in Ghana with proceeds funding the scholarships of students in underserved communities.
