A familiar address. A clearer understanding.

You know the place you call home. But what is the location itself showing?

A familiar address does not always make the flood-susceptibility signals around it visible. FloodSense gives a preliminary view of those location-based signals. It is not a forecast or a safety verdict.

To show how the screen works, we used 5 Lagoon Close in East La: choose a location, confirm the pin, and view the result. The same free screen can help you understand the conditions around the place you call home.

What's the real foundation for climate-smart farming?

For agriculture to truly endure and adapt to climate challenges, it needs a stable, secure foundation. GAB Climate Smart Investments Ltd builds this vital security from the ground up, ensuring long-term operational strength. Our landbank, totaling ~1,078 acres across four key holdings – Aframso, Bobin, Kandaha, and Tepa – provides the consistent base required for climate-smart cultivation and innovation. These holdings enable consistent, climate-adapted farming practices year after year.

Spotting farm challenges with satellite precision.

To help farmers make better land decisions, we rely on precise data. Our satellite monitoring flagged Block AF-12, a 4.06-hectare section at our Aframso farm, for immediate attention.
The evidence from satellite analysis, updated 2026-08-01, shows an NDVI of 0.20 on AF-12. This low reading tells us the plants aren't thriving as they should be.
This specific insight guides our teams to act quickly, ensuring resources are used efficiently and problems are solved where they truly exist.

Can Your Supplier Deliver Next Season Too?

Can your cassava supplier still deliver next season, and the one after that? Ask any processor who's been let down mid-contract, and the answer is: not always.

At GAB, that's not a risk you have to guess at. We hold ~1,078 acres across four sites in the Ashanti Region: Aframso, Bobin, Kandaha, and Tepa. So if one block needs rest or replanting, production keeps moving on another.

That's what lets us commit to real volumes and delivery windows, season after season, without the supply gaps that hurt processors and local buyers.

Why the floods keep coming back (EP01, FloodSense)

Ask anyone in Accra why the floods keep coming back, and you'll hear the same thing. It's worse than it used to be.

Here's a big part of the reason. The city used to be ringed by wetlands and lagoons that worked like a sponge. When the heavy rains came, they soaked up the water and let it out slowly. Over the years, most of that land was drained and built on. So now, when the rain falls hard, the water has nowhere to go. It ends up in our homes and our streets.

You can't bring the old wetlands back overnight. But before you buy a plot or start building, you can check whether the land sits in a low, flood-prone area, the kind of place water naturally wants to return to.

That's what FloodSense is for. It's free, it takes about a minute, and it could stop you building in the wrong place.

The river remembers (CLICOM EP02, galamsey)

You can see it from the road. Rivers that used to run clear now run the colour of mud.

Small scale mining is not new in Ghana. What changed is that the machines moved off the bank and into the river itself. Dredging the bed keeps silt hanging in the water, so sunlight cannot get through and the fish choke. The mercury used to gather the fine gold settles into the mud, turns into a form that builds up inside fish, and moves on to whoever eats them.

It is not only an environment problem. Treatment plants have shut down when silt clogged their intakes. Treating water for our taps now costs over three hundred percent more. The national water company has warned that we could be importing drinking water within a decade.

The thing that protects a river is the strip of living bank beside it. On our own farm blocks we keep thirty metres of it along every stream, and nothing is cleared or sprayed inside that line. We leave the soil untilled so it holds together instead of washing into the water. None of that needs a licence. Any farm beside a river can leave the bank alone.

FloodSense Lite: Check flood risk before you choose the land

After heavy rain, the question is not only whether land is available.

Ask what the water, slope, drainage, wetlands and known flood patterns are already saying about the site.

FloodSense Lite gives a first-pass flood exposure screen for any location in Ghana. It is not a flood certificate, but it can help you ask better questions before a site visit, purchase, design meeting or analyst review.
