Every year, Ghana spends millions of dollars importing chicken. Money that could have stayed right here, circulating in our economy, creating jobs, and empowering farmers.
Imagine if every household had a small backyard poultry setup; just a few birds for eggs and meat.
That’s the vision behind the President’s “Akoko Nkete Nkete” initiative. A call to action for food and jobs.
If we all raised our own chickens, we wouldn’t just fill our pots; we’d be saving precious forex, reducing import dependency, and building a more resilient local economy and food system.
