The Saama Kairo Girls Platform, in partnership with The Girls Agenda, today held its first Youth Safe Space session for 2026, marking the official commencement of a six-month empowerment program aimed at strengthening girls’ voices and awareness.
The inaugural session focused on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), a critical issue affecting girls and young women. Participants engaged in open discussions and interactive exchanges designed to help them understand the different forms of GBV, its impact, and the importance of speaking up and seeking support.
The Youth Safe Space is an empowerment platform created to educate and equip girls with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to protect their rights and make informed decisions. Through this initiative, girls are encouraged to ask questions freely, share experiences, and learn in a supportive and judgment-free environment.
The program is scheduled to run for six months, with one session held every month, each addressing a unique and relevant topic tailored to the needs of girls and young women.
Both Saama Kairo Girls Platform and The Girls Agenda reaffirmed their commitment to creating safe spaces that promote awareness, resilience, and leadership among girls, while fostering a generation that is informed, confident, and empowered to challenge societal injustices.
