More great news! Following the successful grand opening of the Tsuen Wan branch last Thursday, our company JKDF is having three celebrations tomorrow on November 8th.
1) the grand opening of the Yuen Long Specialty Store;
2) the kickoff of the minibus mobile advertising campaign;
3) the interview series with the MetroInfo radio channel FM99.7’s program "So Life is Really Happy!" on every Tuesday from 9:00 to 9:30am from November 2022 to January 2023; the first interview will take place tomorrow.

Atherosclerosis is a disease in which atherosclerotic plaque deposits on the walls of blood vessels and causes arteries to narrow. In the early stage of atherosclerosis, there are usually no symptoms. In severe cases, depending on the location of the affected artery, it may cause coronary artery disease, stroke, peripheral artery disease, and renal failure. The cause of atherosclerosis is currently uncleared. Related risk factors include abnormal blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, smoking, obesity, family history of atherosclerosis, and unhealthy eating habits.

動脈粥樣硬化是一種是粥樣斑塊沉積在血管壁並造成動脈狹窄的疾病。動脈粥樣硬化的早期通常沒有症狀，嚴重時視其影響的動脈所在，可能造成冠狀動脈疾病、中風、周邊動脈疾病以及腎功能衰竭。目前造成動脈粥樣硬化的原因尚不明朗。相關的風險因子包括血中膽固醇異常、高血壓、糖尿病、吸煙、肥胖、動脈粥樣硬化的家族史、以及不健康的飲食習慣。

Many stroke patients cannot avoid the sequelae of stroke even if they were lucky enough to survive. Stroke sequelae is a general term for symptoms such as skewed mouth and eyes, slurring speech, and the paralysis resulted after treatment for stroke (ie, cerebrovascular accident). It is often caused by the natural deficiency in the body, the imbalance of yin and yang, the disorder of qi and blood, phlegm and blood stasis, and dystrophy of the limbs. The cause of stroke sequelae is mainly due to the damage of brain tissue function after cerebrovascular accident which resulted in lack of blood supply in the brain tissue, hematoma compression, and cerebral edema, etc.

很多中風病人就算好彩能保住生命，還是避不過中風後遺症。中風後遺症是指中風(即腦血管意外)經治療後遺留下來的口眼歪斜，語言不利，半身不遂等症状的總稱。常因本體先虛，陰陽失卻平衡，氣血逆亂，痰瘀阻滯，肢體失養所致。中風後遺症的病因主要是因為腦血管意外之後，腦組織缺血或受血腫壓迫、推移、腦水腫等而使腦組織功能受損。

Let’s take a look at STROKE today. A stroke is a condition caused by a sudden interruption or drop in the blood supply to the brain. Like every organ of the body, the brain also needs blood to supply oxygen and nutrients to maintain normal functioning. If the blood supply to the brain is stopped or blocked, the brain cells in the affected area will suffer from hypoxia and lack of nutrients, and die within a few minutes. So, please don’t wait until it’s too late.

讓我們今天談一談「中風」。中風是由於輸送到腦部的血液供應突然中斷或驟降而引致的狀況。正如身體各個器官一樣，腦部亦需要血液來供給氧氣和營養，以維持正常機能運作。如果腦部的血液供應停止或受阻，受影響部位的腦細胞便會出現缺氧及缺乏營養，並在數分鐘內死亡。所以，請不要等到為時已晚。
