April 2nd sees our annual fundraiser for the club bring runners,club members and the local community together for a great evening out and in turn raises much needed funds for the ongoing development of the club and club grounds.

The Original Mr Fruit Man.

This week we laid to rest our dad a husband to his devoted wife a proud Grandad and a friend to so so many others.
Dad in earlier years worked at just about everything from working in train stations in England to working in bars, meat factory, cutting selling timber, selling pot & pans, bedclothes,softdrinks,crisps and other unmentionable's😉
But it was in April 1995 were he found his true calling he made the journey to the town of Ardara were he was greeted with open arms. Dad was more than just a fruit&veg man every one fell in love with this big friendly giant most just came to gather for a story or 2 but guaranteed to leave with a smile or laughing he had a way with people that was more like a gift than anything.
Then he branched out to Raphoe a place he made his home many many years before those that didn't know dad before weren't long getting to know him then again the people were attracted to the larger than life character he was . Not many got passed the Duster without a hello or a full blown story .
A massive loss in both communities but myself and the Mc Guire family like to thank both communities for welcoming our dad supporting our local business for so many years. We also like to thank everyone for there kind words and messages of support through this difficult time for our family ❤️
We would also like to thank everyone who helped serve tea (dad would of been casting a eye over the standard of tea) made sandwiches and directed traffic and for simply just being there.

The obituary notice of the late
JIMMY MCGUIRE

The sudden death has occurred in Letterkenny University Hospital of Jimmy McGuire, 23 Meadow hill, Raphoe, Co. Donegal,

Lovingly missed by, his wife Barbara, sons and daughters, Thomas (Anna), Gemma (Stephen), Joanne (Declan), Lisa, Shaun, and Leona (Jonny), his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchild, sister Mary McGuire and all his extended family, and friends.

Jimmy was predeceased by his parents Tom and Hanna and his daughter-in-law Karen. May they all rest in peace.

A silent thought, a quiet prayer, For a special person in God’s care.

Funeral Arrangements
Jimmy will repose at his daughter, Lisa McGuire’s residence, 28 Cathedral Hill, Raphoe. F93 W7K6 from
• Saturday 27th December, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
• Sunday 28th December, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Everyone is welcome to the wake at daughter Lisa McGuires residence, with the family home, 23 Meadow hill, Raphoe to be private to family only please.

The funeral cortege will leave his daughters residence on Monday morning, 29th December, at 10:30 am, proceeding via the Diamond to St. Eunan’s Church, Raphoe, for 11:00am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please donations in lieu if desired to Surgical 2 ward, Letterkenny University Hospital, C/O any family member or Kelly’s Funeral Directors, Oakfield, Raphoe.
