Bees cannot get in enclosed spaces, so for enclosed rooftop gardens, it’s important to do hand pollination of strawberries. All you need is a paintbrush which you can dab from flower to flower.

There are apricots and then there is Perimassi. This French apricot is very sweet compared to the sweet - tart taste of other apricots.
It’s one of our favourite apricots on the farm. It’s also best apricot variety to dehydrate as its sweetness gets concentrated in its dried form.

Sea Buckthorne is a wonder shrub. Every part of this exotic himalayan shrub is useful.
When it’s not bearing berries, its leaves can also be harvested to make herbal tea, which we make for our guests at our farmstay and in our Resturant in Shimla.

Birds are a natural predators of a lot of pests on the farm especially the scarab beetles, keeping their population down. But because we keep destroying their source of food (the native shrubs), they are forced now@to come into our farms and feed on our fruits especially the cherries.
