Spicy Garlic Chilli Dipping Sauce
A bold, balanced dipping sauce with heat, sweetness, freshness, and umami — perfect with momos, spring rolls, dumplings, grilled chicken, fries, or even drizzled over noodles.
Ingredients
3 tbsp Mummy’s Magic Garlic Chilli Oil
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp brown sugar
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, finely chopped
1 tbsp water
Optional: 1 tsp finely chopped garlic for extra punch
Optional: 1 tsp lemon juice for added freshness
Method
- In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and water.
- Stir until the brown sugar dissolves completely.
- Add the Garlic Chilli Oil and mix well.
- Stir in the sesame seeds and chopped coriander leaves.
- Taste and adjust:
- Add more brown sugar if you want it sweeter
- Add more vinegar or lemon juice if you want it tangier
- Add more Garlic Chilli Oil if you want more heat
- Let the sauce sit for 5–10 minutes before serving so the flavors blend together.
This sauce works especially well because the mint cools the heat slightly, the brown sugar softens the sharpness of the vinegar and soy, and the sesame seeds add a subtle nutty finish. Not to mention the heat and flavour of Mummy's Magic Garlic Chilli Crunch oil takes it to the next level!
