Tamizh New Year Wishes from Palanivel Ayya and Mango Updates: 14-Apr-2021

The video shared earlier was our mango farmer Palanivel Ayya’s greetings to us for the Tamizh New Year today.

We expect lesser quantity of Imam Pasands this year due to the excess rains which spoilt many mangoes during the flowering stage itself. Since we have a larger pool of other varieties, we should be ok with Banganapalli, Alphonso, Senthura etc.

Hoping to see him and his mangoes by the end of this month or early next month.

In any case, we will be getting the price list from him and will start taking orders very soon.

1. Koyambedu - Thirumazhisai Items: There is a big demand from many customers to also introduce a section for Koyambedu/Thirumazhisai items on our site. This section will focus purely on produce that is brought into our Koyambedu/Thirumazhisai market. Many customers who prefer this will be able to appreciate the cost savings we can provide when compared to buying the same Koyambedu/Thirumazhisai produce from other sources. We are contemplating on this, but wanted to get inputs from our well wishers before doing the same.

2. Cashback Offers August 2020: We have got very good response on this with over 50% of the orders now qualifying for the cashbacks. The cashbacks will be available in your account within one week of the delivery date. (We hope to automate this soon to be instant).

3. Fruits Are Coming Soon: We are expanding the fruits section to accommodate fruits such as oranges, apples, pomegranates etc which are not grown in Tamil Nadu. Currently we are piloting it this week and should be able to get it in the system from next week.

5 Minute Farmers: Cashbacks For Eligible Individual Orders Also Now: 9-Aug-2020

We introduced 'Community Group Buy' cashbacks last week, where five or more deliveries to the same community resulted in cashback given to the users who placed the orders in August 2020.

We received feedbacks that it should be extended to individual orders also, based on order value. Hence this plan.

All vegetable and fruit orders of value between Rs.1001/- and Rs.1500 will be eligible for 5% cashback.

All vegetable and fruit orders of value Rs.1501/- or more will be eligible for 10% cashback.

5 Minute Farmers: Weekly Update: 26-Jul-2020

Happy Sunday to everyone. Hope you are staying safe.

Here are the top five updates we wanted to share with you.

1. Introducing Provisions: We have started adding provisions such as rice, oils etc to the produce list. Very soon, we intend to add more. Hope you like it.

2. Senior Citizens Reminder: Please note that if the order is for any senior citizen, please feel free to let us know if you require any additional essentials such as getting medicines, necessities etc from the nearby store. We will be happy to get it at no extra cost to you - this way you can continue to be safe at home.

3. Nutritional Facts: Some of you visiting the website would have noticed that for every produce, we are trying to add the nutritional facts so that you can be aware of the same and have that in mind while choosing any item. Also, please feel free to ask us any questions about diet, nutrition etc and we will try and get you the most reliable response possible from diet specialists.

4. Active Order Taking On Whatsapp and Phone: We realised that after the site was launched, we missed providing updates on whatsapp. We are restarting it right away and will provide produce details and updates on whatsapp also so that you can place your orders like in the past on whatsapp also.

5. Limited Transport: We continue to have limited to no transport in many places such as Vedaranyam, Kodaikanal etc due to lockdown restrictions there. We hope it will be resolved soon and things will come back to normal. Until then, for all the products for which we have a good transport, we will mark it on the produce page with a 'Freshness Guaranteed' logo so you can be aware of the same.

We are happy to announce that we have now integrated payment gateway into the shopping cart, so that the entire process of ordering and payment is connected - unlike earlier.

Also, you can choose your expected delivery date when you start and you will only be shown those products available on your expected delivery date in the featured products section in the home page.

In addition, we are introducing many new produce such as rice, provisions etc starting later this week.

At this point, you can only order for Tuesday, but hope to open up the rest of the days for delivery (from Wednesday to Saturday) within the next day or two.
