Tastes of Europe

Tastes of Europe Tastes of Europe is a European Union (EU) initiative showcasing the quality and variety of specialty European foods from across the countries of the EU.

Welcome to the Tastes of Europe, a campaign funded by the European Union Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI), to promote European food and beverage products with a Geographical Indication (GI). These include products with the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) registration and PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) registration from each of the EU’s 28 Member St

ates. GIs encourage diverse agricultural production, protect product names from misuse and imitation and help consumers by giving them information concerning the characteristics and benefits of GI products as a guarantee of authenticity, quality and safety, tradition and heritage. The campaign kicked off in China in May 2015, followed by seven roadshows from May to December held in various shopping malls across Beijing. At the Tastes of Europe roadshows visitors can sample a wide array of PDO and PGI-registered products including cheese, olive oil, meat, wine, beer, spirit drinks and more. Visitors can enjoy European cuisine cooked by five-star chefs during live cooking shows, and experience the diversity of European food and drinks using a cutting-edge interactive touchscreen display. 4月20日（水）から26日（火）まで（※「オー・コアン・ドゥ・フー」のみ21日（木）～）の約1週間、都内5軒のレストランでEUからの高品質なヨーロッパの食材を使った限定メニューを体験出来る、ヨーロッパ・レストラン・ウィークが実施される。扱う食材は、ヨーロッパ各地で生産が盛んな乳製品やワインをはじめ、肉類（ハムなどの加工品を含む）、オリーブオイル、果物や野菜など。ヨーロッパのクオリティの高い農産物製品の普及促進を目的に、欧州委員会農業総局が展開している「Tastes of Europe」キャンペーンの一環として開催される。安心・安全・おいしいが揃ったヨーロッパの食材を味わいに、出かけてみてはいか…
