二十四節気（にじゅうしせっき）とは、「太陰太陽暦」において春夏秋冬を24の季節に区分したもの。季節を象徴する名前には、それぞれに意味が込められており、旬を迎える食べ物があります。

まだまだ暑い毎日ですが、本日7日からは、“秋のはじまり”を表す「立秋（りっしゅう）」。稲穂も日に日に成長しており、少しばかり色づきはじめています。夕方、田んぼの上を通り抜ける風が少しばかりの涼しさをもたらしてくれます🌾

この時期には、ご先祖様をご自宅にお迎えしてご供養する夏の風習「お盆（おぼん）」行事が行われます。各地で地域のお祭りや盆踊りなどが開催され、京都では伝統行事の「五山送り火」も行われます⛰️

少し先になりますが、11月28日・29日は天然砥石館2Fで、親子で参加できるものづくりカレッジを開催します。こちらも続報をお楽しみに！

It's still hot every day, but starting today, the 7th, it's "Risshu," the beginning of autumn. The rice is growing day by day and is starting to turn a little color. In the evening, the breeze blowing through the rice fields brings a cool feeling🌾

This is also the time when the summer custom of "Obon" takes place, where ancestors are welcomed into homes to be offered prayers for them. Local festivals and Bon-Odori dances are held all over the country, and in Kyoto the traditional "Gozan no Okuribi" bonfires are also held⛰️

Looking a bit further ahead, we will be holding a "Crafting College" event for family on the second floor of the Natural Whetstone Museum on November 28 and 29. Stay tuned for more details!

子どもから大人まで楽しめる SAIDA の石臼でお抹茶を挽くワークショップでは、あずきの里のおいしいお菓子とともに素敵な景観のなかで一服いただけます🍵🍃また、 Daisuke Matsumoto の端材ガラスを使ったペンダントトップづくりも開催しておりますので、7Fワークショップブースにもぜひお立ち寄りください！

「夏至（げし）」が訪れると、北半球では太陽がもっとも高く昇り、昼が一番長くなります。一年で最も昼が短い「冬至（とうじ）」と比較すると、昼間の時間差は4時間以上。日本は梅雨の時期にあたるため夏至の空は曇りがちですが、これから本格的な夏が到来し、暑さは日に日に増していきます。

また、京都では、6月30日になると、1年の残り半分を病気にかからず無事に乗り切ることを祈願して、和菓子の「水無月（みなづき）」を食べて暑気払いをおこないます。

During the summer solstice, the sun reaches its highest point and daylight hours are longest in the Northern Hemisphere. Compared to the winter solstice, which is the shortest day of the year, the difference in daylight is more than four hours. In Japan, the summer solstice is the rainy season, so the skies tend to be cloudy, but full-fledged summer is now upon us and the heat will increase day by day.

In Kyoto, on June 30th, people eat the Japanese sweet "Minazuki" to beat the heat, and pray for safety and freedom from illness for the remaining half of the year.

昨日6日からは、「芒（のぎ）のある穀物や稲や麦など穂の出る穀物の種をまく季節」を意味する「芒種（ぼうしゅ）」。田植えの時期のため、全国各地で豊作を祈願する祭りが行われます。山裾の紫陽花も少しずつ色づいてきましたね。

私たちが暮らす関西でも梅雨入りが発表され、これからしばらくは雨の多い日が続きます。晴れた日には畑を耕し、雨の日には家にこもって読書をする「晴耕雨読」の生活を楽しんでみたいと思います。

Yesterday, the 6th, marks the beginning of "Boshu," which means "the season for sowing seeds of awned or ear-bearing grains, such as rice and wheat." During the rice planting season, Shinto rituals to pray for a good harvest are held all over the country. The hydrangeas at the feet of the mountain are gradually starting to bloom.

In the Kansai region where we live, the rainy season has officially begun. We can expect a period of rainy days ahead. We want to enjoy a lifestyle where we work in the fields on sunny days and read books at home on rainy days—a lifestyle of "晴耕雨読(Seiko-Udoku) ;farming on sunny days, reading on rainy days."

本日21日からは、太陽を浴びて草木が茂り少しずつ満ちていく様子を表す「小満（しょうまん）」。麦は収穫時期を迎え、田植えがはじまるなど、あたり一面が瑞々しい季節となりました。新緑だった山々も次第に緑が深まってきましたね🍃

植えられた稲が収穫を迎える頃の9月18日（金)～11月8日（日）に「第43回全国都市緑化フェアin 京都丹波（愛称：京都丹波みどりの里まつり）」が開催されます。Harvest Journey Kameokaのものづくりを体験いただける企画をプランニングしていますので、ぜひ、この機会に亀岡へ足を運んでいただけたら嬉しいです🌾

Starting today, the 21st, we enter the season called “Shoman,” which refers to the season when plants grow under the sunlight and gradually become fruitful. With the wheat harvest approaching and rice planting beginning, the season is full of freshness and vitality. The mountains, once covered in lush green leaves, are gradually changing to a deeper green.🍃

The 43rd National Urban Greening Fair in Kyoto Tamba (Kyoto Tamba Green Village Festival) will be held from September 18th (Fri) to November 8th (Sun), around the time the planted rice is ready for harvest. We are planning an event where you can experience the craftsmanship of Harvest Journey Kameoka, so we would be delighted if you could take this opportunity to visit Kameoka 🌾

本日5日からは、夏のはじまり「立夏（りっか）」。新緑がきらめき「薫風（くんぷう）」と呼ばれる爽やかな風が吹いています。亀岡では各地で田植えの準備がはじまり、カエルの鳴き声もいっそう賑やかになりますね。

今日は子どもたちの健やかな成長を願う「端午の節句」「こどもの日」でもあります。

本日20日からは、たっぷりと養分がため込まれた恵みの雨が降り注ぎ、百穀を潤す「穀雨（こくう）」。春の終わりが近づき、新緑が一段とまぶしくなってきました。田植えや種まきの準備がはじまり、トラクターの後ろには、おこされた土の中にいる虫に狙いを定めた鳥たちの存在がいます。

たけのこも旬を迎え、ワカメと合わせた「若竹煮」が食べられるのもこの頃です。このような、同じ時期に旬を迎える海の幸と山の幸が組み合わさった料理を「であいもの」と呼びます。

The "穀雨(grain rain)" begins today, bringing nutritious rain and providing water for hundreds of grains. As the end of spring approaches, the lush green leaves become even more vibrant. When preparations begin for planting rice or sowing seeds, birds can be seen gathering behind the tractors, targeting insects hidden in the tilled soil.

This is also the time when bamboo shoots are in season and when they are combined with wakame seaweed to make "wakatake ni" (boiled bamboo shoots). Dishes like this that combine seafood and mountain produce that are in season at the same time are called "deaimono(things of encounter)."

本日、5日からは、春の穏やかな日差しのなかで草花が芽吹く「清明」。生きとし生けるものが清らかで生き生きとしている様子を表しています。満開の桜とともに京都の滞在を楽しまれた方もたくさんいらっしゃるのではないでしょうか。

亀岡では、耕された田畑の側でカエルが鳴きはじめました。日に日に生きものが目覚め、草花からも新芽がではじめています。たけのこやいちごなど、この季節ならではの味覚もお楽しみください。

3月は初めてのマンスリー企画となったHARVEST GALAへのご参加ありがとうございました。今回もたくさんのみなさんにお会いできてとても楽しい時間を過ごさせていただきました！改めて振り返りもさせていただけたら嬉しいです。

In Kameoka, the sound of frogs croaking has begun to be heard near the cultivated fields. Living things are waking up day by day, and new buds are starting to appear from the flowers. Enjoy the flavors unique to this season, such as bamboo shoots and strawberries.
