In a public advisory issued on Friday by the Office of the Government Spokesperson, the government warned that the movement of high-profile delegates and dignitaries will affect transport along key roads within and around the capital city.

According to the notice dated May 8, major roads expected to experience intermittent interruptions include Mombasa Road, Lang’ata Road, Thika Road, Limuru Road, and Kiambu Road.

The government explained that the temporary disruptions are part of security measures aimed at ensuring the safe and smooth movement of visiting dignitaries attending the summit.

The Africa Forward Summit is expected to attract African leaders, investors, policymakers, business executives, and representatives from global institutions.

Technology developers and policymakers have been urged to place the rights, safety and lived realities of African children at the centre of digital innovation as internet use and artificial intelligence become increasingly integrated into children’s daily lives.

The call was made in Nairobi during the launch of the Watoto Framework at the Africa Forward Pre-Summit by Mtoto News, a child-centred digital safety framework developed with direct input from children themselves to guide technology companies, startups and governments in building safer and more inclusive digital products for young users across Africa.

Speaking at the launch, Kenya’s Special Envoy on Technology Philip Thigo said Africa must ensure that innovation advances in a way that protects children while enabling them to benefit from emerging technologies.

Nairobi, 13th May, 2026 - Project Management Institute (PMI), Kenya Chapter, will convene public sector leaders, development partners, and project management professionals for the Government and Public Sector Industry Project Management Conference 2026, set to take place on 28th May 2026 in Nairobi.

Held under the theme “Delivering Kenya’s Development Agenda Through Project Management” and the tagline “From Policy to Impact,” the conference will focus on strengthening the link between national policy formulation and measurable development outcomes through structured project ex*****on.

Kenya continues to invest heavily in public sector projects, with government expenditure on development projects accounting for approximately 30–35% of the national budget in recent years. Kenya Forest Service has received more than three million tree seedlings from Earthbanc in support of the Government’s national tree growing and restoration programme under the Jaza Miti Initiative.

The donation is expected to strengthen Kenya’s target of planting 15 billion trees by 2032, restoring about 5.1 million hectares of degraded land and increasing the country’s tree cover to 30 per cent.

The seedlings, which include indigenous and climate-resilient tree species, have already been distributed to several counties including Uasin Gishu County, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Nandi County, Trans Nzoia County, Kericho County, Baringo County, Kiambu County and Makueni County.

KFS will oversee the planting exercise in partnership with county governments, community groups and other stakeholders, with a focus on long-term ecosystem restoration and environmental conservation.
