Somewhere along the way, food lost its story.

We began seeing food as something on a shelf, rather than something connected to land, people and community. We stopped asking who grew it, what went into it, and how it found its way to our tables.

But behind every meal is a journey.
A farmer. A family. A community. A choice.

At MAMLO FOODS, we believe food should bring us closer to those stories, not further away from them. That’s why we’re building a food system where locally grown produce creates value closer to the communities that grow it.

KENYA MADE THE CUT 🇰🇪🌍

What happens when empowering women isn’t treated as a side conversation, but as part of how we build stronger food systems?

We’re about to find out in Kigali.

MAMLO FOODS has been named a WAYA2026 finalist in the Women Empowerment Champion category, representing Kenya alongside finalists from Nigeria and Malawi.

For us, this recognition goes beyond a nomination.

It is a reminder that when women have greater access to opportunity, markets, knowledge and the tools to turn ideas into livelihoods, the impact doesn’t stop with one woman. It moves through families, communities and entire value chains.
