The rafiki bank second financial literacy training
in conjunction with the Ahero Organic Flavor Community at the Ahero Resource Center to emphasize the importance of core humanitarian standards. The session showed participants how to identify and control cash in and cash out, budget properly and properly manage their business records. Rafiki bank team, Cassava gender champions, farmer representatives, local stakeholders, took part in the training.

Self Help Africa today organized a roundtable session in conjunction with the Ahero Organic Flavor Community at the Ahero Resource Center to emphasize the importance of core humanitarian standards. The session highlighted safeguarding mechanisms in place to prevent sexual harassment, abuse, and exploitation. The SHA team, Cassava gender champions, farmer representatives, local stakeholders, and international volunteers exchanged ideas on how to further improve project cooperation.

So far, 643 cassava farmers have been registered, towards the target of 1,000+ participants in the SHA CaMap project, which is providing income opportunities and economic empowerment for women, youth, and people with disabilities. This community will continue to grow with the support of like-minded partners and key stakeholders with a dire need and focus on service provider mapping to strengthen this noble course!

On Friday last week, Ahero Organic Flavor, as a major business and community development stakeholder, attended the International Day of Persons with Disabilities organized by MIRAL Welfare Foundation at Kolunga primary School . The event was held under the theme: "Inclusive Community with Accessibility Rights of PWD" .Other key activities included a tree planting exercise and an exhibition for cross-learning and exploration.

We set up our business exhibition tent alongside other business and community development partners to showcase our work and products, promoting the cassava value chain. We emphasized the importance of including Persons with Disabilities in order to complete the business opportunities within the cassava value chain.

Additionally, we sensitized interested farmers, particularly those with disabilities, about the benefits of farming and encouraged everyone interested to register through the link shared below:

Ahero organic flavor joined self help Africa in the data collection activity they held at their farm, Magos in Rabuor, Kisumu county.
The activity included harvesting, sorting, weighing and sampling the 14 different varieties of cassava in their farms.

The just concluded Gender Training Program under Cassava Market Access Project organized by Self Help Africa , held in Kisumu, Odelia Gardens. The training impacted the gender champions with knowledge on family life model and some fixes on gender based issues.
